Captain - is it an open line when communicating with the ground crew? no PTT necessary it seems. another amazing video - Many thanks again and again - Kam
@ApproachandDepartureVideos
@ApproachandDepartureVideos Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and your great feedback! It depends. Normally, we set the interphone to a "hot" position. This enables a steady communication via the headset between the First Officer and myself. In that position, also the headset from the ground crew is connected and hears everything we say. On the ground, we also can keep the "open line" off and use the PTT to talk with the ground crew. But then also the cockpit crew will not hear each other in the headsets.

Another great video do you ever get distracted when you guys are doing your checks and talking to each other while hearing the traffic control going on in the background that would put be right off
@ApproachandDepartureVideos
@ApproachandDepartureVideos Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the wonderful feedback! Most of the time, we keep on the ground the ATC frequency active on the flight deck. Reason is that ATC may call us with important information. Here we asked for a "ready message" and had to stay tuned because that "ready message" may have been successful and ATC would call us to tell that. Also after getting the startup clearance, we have to stay on the frequency anyhow. As a pilot, you learn to focus on things like the briefing and checklists but listen also in the background to the radio.

Thanks for the nice feedback! Good observation: The small paper is our load sheet. The handling agent writes down the passenger and baggage numbers and locations. @ApproachandDepartureVideos
@ApproachandDepartureVideos Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, subscribing, the good feedback and your question! ECAM MEMO NO BLUE means that the electronic checklist which is visible on the upper instrument screen in the middle of the cockpit only shows green lines. This confirms that the items are done. Blue lines are open items. Below the line is just a part of a paper checklist which shows some items above a line and others below the line. First we did the things above the line and later the items below the line. Recently, the checklists changed and the new checklists contain no above or below the line items anymore. You can see that in my latest videos.

Nice video capt!, hello from SIN! I noticed during altimeters comparison of before-start checklist at 2:55, where at QNH 1009, you had 0 feet shown but FO has minus-10 feet. What's the 'acceptable' amount of difference between both altimeters?
@mehashi
@mehashi Жыл бұрын
The way I interpret the rules is that pfd1 and 2 should be within 25ft / 8m of airport elevation, and no more than 20ft / 6m from each other. The rules are strangely worded. "FCOM Supplementary techniques: ALTITUDE TOLERANCES PFD 1 or 2 at ground check : plus or minus 25 ft (8 m) MAXIMUM DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ALTITUDE INDICATIONS ALTITUDE (ft) COMPARISON BETWEEN FL/SPEED ADR 1 and ADR 2 (on PFD) GND CHECK 20 ft(6 m)"

Hello, just wondering regarding to the plane fms, do you have to put in the flight plan into the system when going to a destinations or is it already have preset route as just to put in the airport code?
@ApproachandDepartureVideos
@ApproachandDepartureVideos Жыл бұрын
That is a very good question. As long as we have an ACARS data connection, we can request a digital flight plan upload into the system. This plan is not complete but contains the enroute waypoints and the forecasted winds at different altitudes. At Samos airport, there is no ACARS connection available. So we had to type everything into the MCDU by hand.
