आपकी रिसर्च अच्छी होती है लेकिन क्या हमारे 1000साल पुराने पुराण में वर्णित 56भोग(56reciepe) में आलू और तैल नहीं इस्तेमाल होता था? क्या 1850क बाद हम खाना बनाना सीखें हैं ?।ये अन्ग्रेजो के नौकर इतिहासकारों का कमाल है की उन्होने ने सबका श्रेय पश्चिमी सभ्यता को दिया है।और हमारी सभ्यता को कमतर किया है।समोसा हो सकता है बाहर से आया हो लेकिन आलू का पुर्तगाल से 1800में आना एक कल्पना है।

What about that episode when JNU professor Pushpesh Pant mentioned the name sampusht in Sanskrit and mentioned that we indian used to have this snack filled with cauliflower as potatoes were not found here in ancient times. And the same is still served in eastern part of India, especially Kolkata, gobhi wale chote samose. Kripya ispe bhi Nazar daaliye.

Potato is present in our sub continent since atleast 3000 years. It was called aluka in charaka samhita and it is said to be the most inferior of all tubers by its action on health as it deranges the tridoshas. But it is the most consumed tuber now.
