Believe me you can still hear the barking with the headphones on. And samoyeds (and some other dogs) will bark for the entirety of their appointment. It can be mentally draining having to endure the noise for so long.

Reminded me of my daschund who would wait until we were at the last 6 houses before the park, at the end of the block, and cry so much you'd think we were using a horse wip on him. As soon as he got to the park, he'd stop and be perfectly fine. Then do the same thing on the way home.

It’s so funny to me when dogs bark without doing _anything_ else. Like it’s one thing to bark and struggle and battle with the dryer or clippers, but to stand still and face forward and just *woof* is fantastic 😂 Would love to know what’s going on in that big fluffy head. Milo is very pretty. I have owned and shown sammies for over 35 years, and their correct coat is a harsh, water resistant outer coat and soft, dense under coat. He might just have an incorrect coat, which happens. As you pointed out, visually he looks purebred. Not all bloodlines have correct coats. Hilarious how he is so vocal, I can relate! So hard to get then to not shake before you're done! Neutering/spaying can soften the coat (especially in females). Great before and after! 👍🏼👍🏼

I have heard not to neuter male Sammies, because it can ruin or affect their coats. I've never heard how the coat is changed though.

I love Samoyeds, but i know from how loud my neighbor's Sammy is and the various videos here with them that they are most likely too loud for me to own. I always love the Samoyed videos! My family got one the Christmas before I was born (my bday is in March) & Snowball was my big fluffy friend for the rest of his life. He was an outside dog, so he wasn't really bright white very often because he loved to dig a hole in the dirt & lay in it. I don't remember him yipping as much, but he wasn't getting a bath the whole time either 😂 Snowball didn't only have an impact on my family, he also impacted a particular person's life without even meeting in person. My pediatrician always told the story of the first time I met him - I was 2 & thought it was a good idea to put Snowball on the leash & hook it on my trike so I could bring him across the road to my grandparents house - he wasn't really leash trained & was considerably bigger & stronger than me even though we were the same age, so it didn't end well for me. Apparently, every time someone with a white coat on came near me at the clinic, I freaked out. The nurses put me in a straight jacket (which was also white), but I still freaked out. The doctor took off his white coat & I was calm. He never wore a white coat again in his 45+ years as a pediatrician - he always a colored coat or striped coat after that. He told me that story every time I saw him & he carried it on by telling my son when he was a patient too. I didn't know that the coat story actually happened when he first came to our area after medical school/residency until I read his obituary.
