I tried this on some finger picked acoustic guitar in Reaper and it wasn't quite what I hoped for, although I will say it is much better than anything else I've tried so far including Melodyne and Zplane Decoda as well as other random options I've found digging around over the last several years.

I have a problem with the program and it is that when I pass the MIDI to the DAW (reaper) using an arturia vst, an automation is created which I cannot control. In the case of the Mellotron vst, the automation is on a volume knob.

The text to audio feature looks a lot like a paper i saw a while ago, i wonder what model you guys use? i'm very interested in deep learning and would like to know if possible.

Samplab 2 itself contains no generative AI but the TextToSample plugin we released uses the small model from AudioCraft

sometimes i transfer midi from sample into samplab pianoroll but i dnt hear anything back. Also this feature that lets you edit two samples together it seems like it doesnt work for me too

I’ve been using this for a couple months now but each time I take the midi from Samplab back into my DAW, say I’m producing at 175BPM.. When I drag the midi over from samplab it doesn’t come across and fit on the grid the same, it tends to be playing at x2 speed? I produce in FL studios if anyone can help me out🙏🏻 (Also I have tried changing the tempo inside samplab to my current project and that also doesn’t work)

If its playing twice the speed it might be that it detected the wrong bpm and then thinks it has to double the speed to match the tempo of the project. You can help the Samplab tool by selecting a clip, clicking the settings (sprocket) and telling it what the correct tempo of your sample would have been. hope that helps!

Sorry to hear it's not working as expected! Could you send us more detail to [e-mail]? Note that StudioOne does not export audio when you drag on an audio clip. Might that have been the problem?

most computations run on our servers so our users don't have to wait for minutes even when they dont own high performing computers. for that reason we do offer it through a subscription

for some reason this version doesn't always convert midi to FL Studio pattern. Some tracks are translated, some are not. Dragging an empty piano roll upd: found the cause of the problem. Any files in another language, in my case a file with a Russian name does not translate midi into a pattern, I have to rename it. Little flaw. The plugin itself is very useful. Thanks to the developers

Yes, we do return stereo output but only in the premium tier since it requires more processing on our side. I'd recommend the free trial of premium to just give it a try :)

Is there a perma licence option? I'm a musician, and even as a professional one the concept of a regular income is absurd. subscriptions just don't fly with artists imo.

Unfortunately we can't sell a permanent license because the transformations rely on running servers. As a young startup company we can't sell the promise of keeping them running until the end of time. (Also because the sun will eventually expand and swallow the earth and that's where our servers are) Note that you can keep all the work you have already transformed with samplab forever, so downgrading from premium will not destroy any of your work. Hope this answer helps to understand why we have to rely on the subscription model

I tried this to convert audio to midi with simple piano chords and all I get is just chaotic mess. I do not think I am doing anything wrong because its so easy to use.. or should I say very little I can do with it. I cant believe its year 2023 and all these great tools we have there is still no perfect tool to convert audio to midi when talking chords.

Transcribing polyphonic audio is quite a difficult problem and there is still a lot of research done on making it better. But Samplab keeps evolving we will improve this over time.

@@samplab problem is, when I generate a midi from a piece of audio, the tempo, and tempo changes don't ger embedded in the resulting midi file.

@@steveshadforth8792 ah understood. we only provide a fixed bpm detection because the majority of our users use Samplab for samples that have a fixed tempo and embedding multiple tempo events in the Midi would probably be undesired misdetection and confusing outputs. really sorry it doesn't fit your usecase.
