Pro tip: speed up the audio by 2 If your sample is 18 seconds long, speez it up by 2 so its 9 Btw speed it up but keep the pitch If the audio is simple enough, no fancy arpegios or nuances like that, it should be fine

ableton does give you the midi notes but you have to use it in a normal midi instrument. samplab also resynthesizes the midi to the original sound ;)

Does the free version work with Maschine daw as plug in? i tried using the desktop app but it would let me export, or drag and drop midi into my Maschine daw.

@@Kicksareus919 on the desktop app we have just added the midi drag yesterday. if you close the app and restart it, it should add the update automatically and then you can drag midi if you hold ctrl (or command on mac) while dragging out a clip

@promptSafe if you're using Samplab as a plugin just drag the regular Midi (the file icon that says "midi", not the one with the "S") to the track that Samplab is on. The little piano icon should turn blue and that means it plays the sounds from your sample if you use it with your own midi input

If you were using Studio One or Cubase you could use that midi on a track and bind it to a totally different chord progression using the chord track.

hmmm. I usually just use an audio to usb converter but I will look into this. As far as Samp lab only allowing you to use 10 seconds takes me back. My dj mixer I got in1992 had an 8 second sampler which I used with an old tape 4track. But to get longer samples I would play the sound source (Vinyl record) at the 45 speed instead of the original 33 1/3 and set the sample speed on the sampler all the way up. When I finished sampling I would lower the speed of the playback and in doing so I got much richer sounds. Sounds that might of been masked by other instruments became more prominent. I know the pc sound players usually give an option to play wavs or mp3s at a faster speed usually up to 200%. But this would give you more sample time. But for anyone reading this in general it still applies, increasing the speed of the sample source and playing it way slower will always give a richer sound in general. But to be able to to convert analog audio to digital waves and then play the pattern but manipulate the notes is amazing.

@@Verysickbeats also I looked into samp lab and you can't purchase it outright you have to lease it for a monthly fee. Ableton Live has a way to copy audio to video and vice versea as well since you have Ableton already.

Been working with full version for weeks results are very poor on anything but very simple audio ! Most Daws can do just as well ! You also need to go into settings in samplab and change a few selections to improve !

this is pretty cool, but one thing to be aware of is that it works by sending the audio to their servers over the internet, and having their servers send the midi back. It would be way better if it would be done on your own computer, sending it over the internet seems unnecessary.

We would love to do it locally but the AI stuff is pretty heavy so its not possible to just run it in the plugin :(

This is pretty dope to have the option to do this if you want it, even if only for 10 seconds. Plus I was thinking that once you do get the midi notes into your daw, you then have the option of stretching the notes at the end of them if need be also, correct?
