As a long time resident of Clallam County I'd like to apologize to Leo and the talented crew. "Great View, No Vision" should be the county motto. What should be a shining example of what this area can produce is instead an example of what dedicated and artistic people can produce under bureaucratic, small minded duress. The energy, money and worries Leo has had to fight is forever a black stain on our county. The most obvious foolishness being the need to move the boat with a beautiful end in sight. More wasted time and resources when only fools would not see an end is in sight. We have great people in the county but obviously not in our bureaucracy. Thanks to Leo and the crew for allowing us to see that artistic people can come together to make something as wonderful as Tally Ho. Leo for being a stellar example of how a good person handles themselves with dedication, courage and true class in the face of unreasonable assault. Thanks to the many crew for highlighting the best traits humans can have, hard work, cooperation, teaching, comradery and good will. An example the world would do well to follow. It's been inspiring to watch. Good luck in Jefferson county. May your move be seamless and productive. I'm sure Port Townsend and Jefferson will welcome you with open arms. I guess we get stuck with a MAT clinic instead. No waiting, no lines (their add).

Pete's blown hydraulic line story cracked me up. In college I worked the overnight shift at a ski resort making snow. One night the groomer cat blew a .5" hydraulic hose right in the middle of the most popular run. It looked like a murder had happened there - the snow was blood red. The part wasn't going to arrive until noon the next day, so we had to put snow fence around the cat until we could get it off the hill, as it was considered a hazard.

As a luthier who needs to make perfect curves in a variety of woods including extremely dense ebony where it meets a maple neck, I would suggest the Angelique be done with scrapers. Watching you dig out and put back in the slotted brass screws reminded me of when my older brother, a shipwright apprentice, was building his first boat in Victoria (across the way) in the mid 60's. Except that power hand tools were very primitive back then. Drills were not cordless, not variable speed and not reversible. Even with a gear reduction they didn't have a lot of torque. Needless to say there was a lot of work with a brace and bit. Keep up the great work. The craftsmanship that all of the crew constantly display is very satisfying.

The sea is a pretty harsh environment and a paint coating protects the hull. Any part below the waterline has to be painted with anti-foul in any case otherwise marine organisms would grow all over it and slow the boats passage through the water and ultimately destroy the planking. The varnished internal timbers are really beautiful though.

I can see why it takes so long to put out a video. Simple excellent editing Leo, music was spot on, kept jumping between scenes, longboarding, scalloping, that bloody bird, cleanup, interviews, that bird and your own commentary. It's been a true pleasure watching. Hope the move goes well.
