Hello Paul thanks for checking it out. I finally was able to upgrade my computer. It's a used gaming system by dell, it's fast and quiet tho. Got a fresh editor to complement it so watch out! Lol thanks man Paul I don't know which is worse Britain or US but the hospitals here have ICU units full. Definitely be safe too

Hi Ray, thanks so much for doing this video! I'm watching it in 2025 as I'm trying to figure out a wireless audio setup for the podcast I'm trying to launch. Was keen to use the Rode Wireless Pro system but was worried about mic bleed and background noise with the standard omni lavs, so been looking for a compatible cardioid lav and the Samson definitely looks promising! Curious if you're still using it now in 2025, or if there are any newer models you might recommend? Last question - is the audio in this video straight from the mic, or do you use any post processing? Sounds great!

Sounds good 👍 As far as I can tell on my Motorola cell phone, it's an improvement (I compared this video to the soft box review). It has neither the harsh pop nor dynamic peaks that would make me crank the volume up/down during the entire video. But this might have to do with the overall setup though (aka "audio bin" , lol). Very balanced review, as always. Thank you.

Hello thank you Olaf. That means alot. one thing I noticed when I was editing it with headphones on is there is a slight noise floor that's a little greater than my $20 microphone lol but this one isolates better and has a more natural sound. Hey man I'm impressed that you've been checking out my older vids, if you keep this up I might make you honorary subscriber of the month LOL

@@Raychristofer 😇 Nah, no need to I'm just glad to know about your channel, because it's not the fancy stuff you review like legions of content sheep out there but things that just work and which provide a decent bang for the buck. Keep it up, keep it real.

@@Raychristofer Yeah and the quality. My dad tried a few cheap ones off ebay and they were rubbish, I watched a few reviews for cheap ones and they produced static and drop outs outs. Plus you seem like you really know your stuff. Cant wait till this corona lock down is all over and I can get outside and try it. It could be months before we can go camping again, so I might have to take some lessons on how to review from you and review some of my camping gear lol

@@Beyondthebackyard-au hey thanks man, and I like to be realand honestly the way this thing is going it doesn't look like it will go away in a few months so I'm leaving as if it's here to stay. don't forget a little over a year ago I reviewed a model from a company named FIFine for $30 that is outstanding. If isolates well. The only downside is that uses batteries and isn't rechargeable
@Beyondthebackyard-au4 жыл бұрын
I liked the rechargeable part too. When I kayak I carry a charging battery and also have a small folding solar panel for hiking. I try to make sure I can charge everything while I’m out. I also just got a second hand DJI drone I can’t wait to try.

Upping that intro and outro game, I like it. Always good to see a vid from you, especially on these days when we're cooped up in the house. This looks and sounds like a nice mic, but the adapter thing could be a bit of an issue. I'm still using and enjoying the Alvoxcon wireless you reviewed awhile back, absolutely love it.

Hey Tekno how are you? Good to hear from you and thanks for your support. Hey my old PC died and I couldn't activate the editor on my new of so I had to order the latest version of movavi but it turns out this version has cool intro graphics and ways to tweak things, glad I was forced to get it. Also artlist reached out to me offering me a free account of their library so the real music helps. Thanks for noticing bro.

@@Raychristofer I guess if we have time inside, always good to look for ways to improve things. I thought this would give me time to make more vids, but I'm blessed to be able to work remote and have been to busy. What little free time I have I've been sneaking out to hike a bit away from people and challenging myself by using an old 400mm Tokina prime F-mount I got for like $40 on KEH on my Sony A6000, lol. I do have a lego Ferrari kit I haven't built yet that I might do a build timelapse of, just something to feel productive. Hope you and family are well and staying safe!

@@Raychristofer In northern GA, north enough of Atlanta to not be in the city and close enough to the foothills to be able to enjoy the country. I haven't noticed anything with the mic so far, it sounds much better than anything else I've used. I got both it and the Maono wired LAV based on your vids. Haven't taken much video with the DSLR yet, but what I have used them for it's been clear and better sounding than anything I used before.

Very good review. Sounds like a good Lav mic. Great lighting in your video. Very professional look. Must be using a soft box? And what camera are you using? Your contrast levels are really good. I'm watching it on an old low saturation lap top screen. Most videos look pretty bad, but your are true color and true black anyways. Great work!
@Raychristofer4 жыл бұрын
hey thanks so much bro sorry for the late reply, yes im using a softbox, believe me I learned over the years a incandescent bulb makes everything orange.this is the lumix g7, many people think you have to shoot log and bring back in post, thats overrated , I just lower the contrast in camera and light it well enough to stay at native iso. ive never used the 4k, thanks for commenting man I watch so many of your videos and learned alot

Hi Ray. Great review as always! The Amazon link doesn't seem to be correct. Can you confirm that? Looked it up and it seems a bit expensive for what I'm looking for but the quality sure is there. Do you think it's apropriate for high noise/wind reduction or overkill? (regardless of the adapter situation)
@Raychristofer4 жыл бұрын
Hello how are you? thanks for checking this out. I see youre from spain so I just put a link for you to Amazon Spain in the description. for high wind I found the supplied wind muff not suppressing it enough, I had to use my aftermarket larger dead cat lapel wind muff. thats interesting you mentioned that because im realizing I didnt do a segment on the video about that. thanks for checking this out and heres the direct link to your amazon Spain store. respect amzn.to/3bMqpKW

@@Raychristofer I'm from Portugal but it's close enough. :) I actually do motovlogging (for another channel, "Travelmaker"), that's why I thought of it but for Photograph Lisbon, a microphone that would capture specific city sounds while isolating passers-by is something that might interest me.
