If you want to see some close up narrow gauge shunting and goods trains in real life i can recommend visiting the Apedale Valley Railway in Staffordshire. They have a small passenger line and a area called the field railway which is a replica of how the WW1 narrow gauge railways were made.

Hi Sam, The people were in the carriage when you picked it up from the engine shed because they had heard of your amazing shunting skills, and they had paid extra to witness them for themselves. Most impressive. I expect you’ll be building a 009 layout with plenty of shunting opportunities, a station or two and a couple of steep slopes in your loft now. Any excuse to get different rolling stock! Regards, Jim

I have to say that if you want something realistic, I'd get the Bossman Games merchant navy (The one from their website, not the steam store as the sone on steam is the same price and has less liveries and only one name whereas the one on Bossman's own store has 3 liveries and 30 names). It's a fantastic DLC and if you disable auto fireman, it's a great test of your steam loco driving. I can understand if you didn't want it though as it is a little pricey. Completely worth it in my opinion, but understandable otherwise. Great video as always. Always nice to see some TS :)

After several hundred hours of TS, I can say with certainty that the difficulty levels given for the scenarios are pulled from a hat. (Well, the Corris railway is one of the toughest DLCs for a variety of reasons, but on most routes even five-bar scenarios aren't that bad.) If you like narrowgauge, you might want to try the RhB routes from Switzerland.

@ewanmcgregor1464 жыл бұрын
@@SamsTrains My current container fleet is a mix of Kato & TOMIX N scale JRF 21 metre open frame flat cars, so you’d think they may be too light, being only 140mm long. But all metal wheels, metal subframes & suspension, means they are actually very stable, even without containers! Kato DE10 is a sturdy little loco, heavy & powerful, even though it’s only 100mm long. And it DOESN’T zoom around like a bullet train! I have one freight train that never gets shunted, though. M250 Super Rail Cargo is a permanently coupled EMU style container train dedicated to carrying containers for Sagawa Transport. Anyway, thanks again for your videos, alway enjoy watching them! Trying a new format of my commenting here: I compile my myriad thoughts throughout the video then post them as one in order to save space on your comment feed. Hopefully that benefits us all. This is my favorite kind of modeling; it can be exquisitely detailed as there are no manufacturing limitations as there are in plastic or brass models, and the only space consideration you need to bear in mind is that of hard drive space. Is there a cowling that normally goes over the front of the locomotive that for some reason was removed? To my eyes it looks slightly incomplete. That descending slope is just cruel of the engineers to build: in Transport Fever 2 I have a mod that limits my slope building to 1:40 because I'd rather spend more on building switchbacks than cause my drivers any stress they don't need. Your reaction at 21:42 was the funniest thing I've seen all day. All things said (which were quite many even by my standards) This is by far my favorite video of yours. Don't get me wrong--I find your other videos quite entertaining, but this one was just extra golden.
@KrisDouglas4 жыл бұрын
Those motorrail locomotives did often have a full bonnet and several of them were cut down to allow for a passenger to ride on them. The earliest ones had a bonnet over the engine in the middle and no cab or cover at all. They are very nice to operate, lots of visibility.
