Recommended picture settings for Samsung 2023 CU series, the successor of 2022 BU models. Together with CU8000 and CU8500 series, these are step-down models compared to Samsung's QLED line - no quantum dot technology, no special gaming features, and Tizen 7.0 with limited features (e.g., Ambient mode is missing).

Hi! Definitely I recommend TCL 55C745 mainly because it has more stable picture controls and has quite good local dimming. If you want mini LED model, then check TCL C805.

Your TV automatically upscales all content to its native 4K resolution - sure, for the best image quality, you need to playback 4K content, but even Full HD will look really good.

I've had a 7 series and 2 8 series au and cu, and the 7 series has better black levels than the 8. I've noticed HDR does not show on film maker mode only. Does this mean HDR is not supported in this mode only, as it's what I have my Blu-ray player set to. Also there is a lot of white bleed in the top blackbar in letterbox on wide-screen content, so I keep my settings on standard with 20 brightness 45 contrast 30 colour, warm 1 🙃
