this is what gamers want. a 3d option with a oled panel

there was 3d monitors in casino games like 10 years ago. they used an interference pattern to send the light out in stripes. it was good stuff.

I’d kill for an improved giant 3DS monitor. Can’t wait. Let the haters hate but this coming out is probably more important than them being born… I mean… this will go down in history… meanwhile their names probably won’t. 🤣

Me too. I loved the 3ds. Playing all the modern console games in 3D...I'd pay big bucks!

I love the 3DS, besides gaming, i was just wondering how cool would it be to watch 3d movies without glasses in a bigger and higher def screen than my 3DS

Interesting, does correct 3D perspective get lost when the viewer moves to the side, similar to how proper 3D perspective was lost in 3D monitors with nVidia's 3DVision glasses support when the player shifted to the side?

Samsung needs to make a 100 inch 3D monitor.

Hello as you tried that tech. I wanna ask. It is like Nvidia 3d Vision without glasses ? I mean if yes. That is so cool man.

Just wait till the 3DS gets consolized with HDMI, these monitors will become super important. But it might be a long way till all games are made in 3D, however, there are a bunch of games from Xbox and PlayStation that were made for 3D, I don't think they announced 3D capability, on the games, tho I'm guessing most of the games are in 3D.

for some pc games you can use reshade to display in 3d
@ThermaL-ty7bw21 күн бұрын
@@gayshit6230 i don't think these monitors need that , they use AI to make a 3D image ... from 2D image material , i think it will just do it's thing with the cameras and just make Any game in to a 3D environment , which Could work because you do have 2 cameras that follow your eyes and AI creating an extra image these monitors will cost a hell of a lot , i can tell you That for sure ... there used to be a VR program that could do the same thing , a long time ago , i played Breath of the wild , in VR , emulated in Cemu @ 4K ... in 3D ... and it worked and Looked absolutely great , i was IN the game , now ... that was an experience !!

This isn't new technology, so I'm surprised this is a push by samsung. The 3DS did it years ago, we've had phones, laptops, and I think even monitors with it, but most people quickly seem to decide it's a gimmick (I've used many devices like this over the years, and I don't think they're very worthwhile). The main problem is that even if they work perfectly (which is rare) the technology relies on splitting the output to reach two different eyes. This costs something, either in frame rate or resolution. You either need to strobe two images to reach the eyes, meaning you create twice as many frames to create the same amount of motion, or (like this tech) you use a form of directional blocking and send alternating lines to each eye, which either requires you to halve the resolution, or render everything twice (lower performance) So while it can look cool in isolation, most people quickly find the novelty wears off, and then when you look at the exact same panel next to a non-3d panel, and usually see a higher resolution or framerate, you realize you prefer the 2d panel. Maybe I'm wrong, and samsung is doing something new and magic, but nothing in their marketing seems to allude to that yet.

You're so wrong. If the monitor is 4K and each eye still gets 1440p in 3D, that's already better than good enough. 3D gaming is incredible and something that flat screens just cannot provide in terms of immersion. I've been 3D gaming on an OLED 4K 3D TV with mods that the community creates and it is a night and day difference

Lenticular 3D tech has come a long way, incorporating eye tracking now to provide much wider viewing angles. Additionally, the same tech you're describing where there needs to be 2 images has been used for VR since its inception and therefore has a ridiculous amount of optimization techniques that allow it to be more than viable on consumer hardware. Most GPUs these days take care of doubling the image specifically for creating the 3D image you see in VR, and I'm assuming the engineers for this product are going to be using the same kind of tech, probably using the same API's with some modifications

Performance cost is probably quite high for the 3d effect, since it needs to render 2 different perspectives. Prolly close to 50% reduction in fps, just like when running games VR mode or in 2d but with 3d stereo filters when casting a depth enabled flatscreen to a VR headset.
