Some are but not all. Some have different one connect cables some use the same. If it's the same cable you can plug it in but sometimes it will detect that it's not the correct TV, and show perfect picture and looks like it work and then show a message saying it's not the correct TV and shuts down. It should really work but I think Samsung put software in there to make it not work. Although that is just speculation.

So satisfying to watch! One can only love what you guys do! Question: Would you repair a connect box BN91-21160L (for our Samsung 55Q90)? It's not able to start the TV anymore (I keep hearing a "tak" sound from the relais). Probably some components damaged when it overheated (I kept the TV running for straight 10+ hours every day and one day it was just too much.)

I am not very famliar with the Samsung 55Q90 and am not sure if the fault would be with the one connect box, mainboard, or power supply. Since we don't have a test TV for that model it would be difficult to diagnose and confirm the fault. Because of that I would not be comfortable saying we can fix it for you at this time. I would recommend trying to locate a new box first or a used one if one is available.

@@NicksTVRepair Thx for your reply. We brought it to a Samsung repair shop (Let me Repair) for analysis and they figured out the fault is within the electronics beneath the display. Sadly, they cannot provide repairs to figure out which components are broken and replacing that mainboard (they probably buy a new one) costs in total 870€! So sad and embarassing to have that broken TV in the basement now. Reality kicks in, another high tech piece for the dump..

My gosh I wish I had the tools and time to repair mine. I just took the box apart. My screen was showing a blank screen with one connect connected and it was turning grey and slowly pulsing white. When I unplugged the one correct the tv looked fine, just showing me the prompt to plug in the one connect 😩😩😩. Such an amazing tv I don't desire to sit it but the dumpster. I'm sure it can be saved

That can sometimes be due to a defective mainboard or the panel failing.

Great video Nick. Can you show how to open the box to get to see the inside? My unit will connect briefly then shows the picture saying it needs to connect. There's power as the optical connection is lit up. Any suggestions on what to look for. Im.thinking it may be a weak power supply causing the disconnect.. Thanks

You most likely have either damage to the port itself just like in the video, a faulty one connect cable, or one of the processor chips on the board is going out. I don't recommend opening up the box, you will only chance damaging the board inside.

@NicksTVRepair thanks for the response Nick. I tried another box from our 65" set. It worked fine. The box in question with another cable still yielded the same intermittent result. So I'm positive the cable TV pirt is good. Now my next question. Do I really need a one connect if I plug directly into a internet modem. Want the TV set recognize t h e connection and also me to do internet tv?. It does see the WiFi with a good box plugged in. But won't stay connected with the intermittent "one connect" as I'm thinking the TV is defaulting to the box hence I lose all connections

Very good video! My JS9500 won't turn off (starts right up again) and the remote is not working anymore, also I lost wifi capability. Do you think it's the fault of the one connect box and is this fixable? Thank you

I would recommend disconnecting your Wifi, bluetooth, IR, and button boards, then plug it back in. Does the TV turn itself back on? If yes then your fault is either with the mainboard or your one connect box. In which case I would recommend performing a software update and a reset to the TV. If the tv does not turn itself back on however then one of those boards you disconnected is the cause of your fault. Plug them back in one at a time until the issue comes back. Then you will have found your faulty device. In the event the mainboard or one connect box is at fault, the software update may not fix the issue. If this is the case I would then recommend sending them in to our repair facility to be fixed. We offer a flat rate service which comes with a 1 Year warranty. i have a UN75MU8000, everything works great, however the one connect box for it does not have any av outputs on it, the pcb does have footprints for them though, i'm trying to figure out if there are any other models of the one connect box that come with those av connections that would work with my tv

If the cable itself is damaged, I would say best to replace it. On eBay you can get them for less than $100. The cost of repairing a cable usually will be much more and won't be as reliable. If the connector inside the box is damaged, that is something that can be replaced and fixed per the video.

Hello, ive watched your video and several others but i cant seem to identify my exact issue nor have i seen anyone else with my exact issue. I turn my tv on then it cycles off after 15-20seconds followed by standby light flashing 5x then back on and repeatd this process. The picture and sound are perfect while on. Ive attempted to replace the main board but that didn't fix the issue. Would you suggest replacing the power board or my one connect box? My tv is a Samsung QN55Q7FNAFXZ

I can't be sure without diagnosing the set myself but cycling is most commonly caused by a defective one connect box and or mainboard. I don't believe your cycling issue is caused by the power supply but again without being in front of the TV I can't be sure

Hello, The fault you are experiencing is actually common and I just did a video on it. Now the box I did a video on is for an HU9000 series instead of the JS9000 but the repairs are very similar for both. The Samsung UN65HU9000 won't work without the One Connect box. The box needs to be connected for it to be able to turn on fully. Your second question I don't understand: "CAN I USE CONNECT ONE TO HDMI CABLE ONLY" You can connect an HDMI cable to your One Connect box, yes, but if the One Connect box is not working then your TV won't work properly. You would need to have the box fixed first. Also the mainboard and box can both fail with identical symptoms, so if you plan on sending those in for us to fix, make sure to send both the mainboard and box not just the box.

We got hit by lightning so now when the tv turns on it says 'make sure the one connect box is connected' and won't proceed any further. I then hoped that by disconnecting the one connect box, the tv would at least continue to turn on so we could use the apps via internet. But no, I’ve been denied! Any thoughts?

You would need to download them again as well as go through the login process for all of those as well. I would recommend using the amazon fire sticks, chromcast, roku device, apple TV, or other similar devices as those can be transfered from TV to TV will reatin all your information, apps, and are typically easier to use than the built in apps of most TVs.

the box you need is either the BN91-17814A or BN91-17814W. Those are the 2 variants that should work with your TV set. I don't know many people that have them avaialble for sale, but if you have your original, I can fix it for you.

You could have a bad cable, Mainboard or one connect box. I wouldn't be able to assist you past that without being present with the TV.

My ue55js9000t has stopped working. The TV itself seems fine, as its asking me to plug in the connect box. It's when I plug the connect box that I get the problem. Black screen. No picture. I can use the navigation buttons on the back, as I hear the clicking noises. Is it repairable, or do I just get rid?

Are you saying the TV turns on fine with both the box and one connect cable disconnected, but the moment the cable is connected the TV won't turn on anymore? You could have a bad cable, Mainboard or one connect box. I wouldn't be able to assist you past that without being present with the TV.

This could be a fault with either the mainboard, the one connect cable, or the one connect box. There is no way to know which one is at fault with out a proper testing jig set up. If you would like to send in all three, we can identify which of your parts are defective and repair them on a component level or if the cable is the fault simply replace it.

Hello, The one connect box is 1 circuit board for the model we work on in this video. I suspect you are working on a completely different TV set that uses different versions where it is separated into 2 different boards. Those are very different and vary from model to model. I don't service those much yet so I don't have much experience with them. You would need to provide me with the exact part numbers of each circuit board before I can answer any questions. But also even with the exact numbers, I can't give you a great answer without diagnosing it in person. What I can tell you is that if you have picture distortion, then the mainboard usually causes that. You have a mainboard in the box and also in the TV so when I say mainboard, I don't know if the fault is the TV board or OCB board. But a black picture without distortion could also be the power supply in the TV, not necessarily just the box. There are too many factors I think for me to be able to help you much here. I usually don't say this, but I would recommend finding cheap parts with good return policies and swapping them out one at a time until you get it fixed.

Hi Nick, I have a 60 Samsung Frame tv, the screen powers on and shows an animation of the tv and box being connected but when I connect the box the screen turns off. I've tried replacing the box with another for the same model but get the same issue. Any suggestions?

The most common issue is the one connec cable becoming defective. The cable is an optical cable, if it gets kinked or stepped on, if you have a pet that might have chewed on it possibly, all these are reasons for the cable to go out. I would recommend replacing it next. If that doesn't resolve it, the only other option left would be the mainboard.
