As a retired engineer I used this video today. I had a temperature controlled heat gun set to about 70c and gave it about 10 minutes but still struggled with the back. Once off it was plain sailing except when I removed the internal speaker which I managed to split. No problem a new one is only £2.49 and on the way. The adhesive tape for the back is a bit stretched and deformed but I can sort that. Overall a great video which saved me loads. Thankyou.

Thanks for making this video! I'm having to order a replacement kit for my galaxy a50 and doing it myself to save the money of paying someone else. I got a few cracks in my screen and really love this phone and rather not replace the phone as I've only had it for less then 4 months so I'm gonna replace the screen.

Hi Ben, I replaced the screen and the phone worked great for a few hours. All of a sudden, the screen is faded (like a white film over the display) with flickering horizontal lines.

Thanks, this was very helpful. However the fingerprint scener is not recognizing my print. I tried to delete my print to get another scan but the system won't let me. Instead a message pops up saying that the fingerprint scanner needs to be calibrated. I tried to find help on Google & apparently this is a common issue.

So, I replaced a screen on an a50. It worked fine for a few days and now it doesn't respond to touch at all. I opened it back up and triple checked all of the connections. Am I missing something or should I buy another screen again?

My 3 mnth old A50 fell into the loo. Despite pulling it out immediately water damage had occurred. Samdung's solution? Not economic to repair, buy a new phone. Arseholes!!! I did some research and bought a new subboard for £14.00 and fixed the problem myself. Result Samdung is over for me....their customer service sucks!!!
