Samsung American fridge freezer.

Part ordered off Amazon, but also readily available from eBay and other online appliance shops. Put code into google search bar and it will come up.

Thank you sir for the video and thanks to all in the comments for the tips. I have a Samsung RS7547BHCSP/EF side by side fridge, it went "cold" (haha) overnight, no power outage or unusual events. Samsung scheduled an inspection in a week, would of had to pay $35 for troubleshooting. I found the module in description STD32W or DA9200530A (Main PCB Control Board Module) , than pinpointed the Schottky diode SB2100, tested on board, it was short-circuited. Some extra research revealed it is a common fault with this type of source, many recommend swapping with a bigger one. All I could find is a SB5100 (5 Amps 100V) where the original was 2 Amps 100V, I had to drill the board to accommodate thicker wires, used a 1.2mm drill bit only by hand, very careful not to damage the copper leads. Solder it and works like a charm. I hope the extra strength will keep it running for a long time. Thank you all and good luck to whomever will find this post useful.

Spot on with the fix. A 20p diode as mentioned further down in the comments. Extra info.... When testing with a multi meter, if you have no 5v output it is the diode labeled DS2

Same here- my fridge just stopped working, no prior issues whatsoever... I found the faulty diode (DS2) afer checking for continuity with a multimeter and then took it for a replacement at a local TV repair shop (yes, not even a fridge repair shop!!!). It end up costing me ~5 EUR and about 2 hours (including the trip to shop) of my time. Many thanks for the video and hope this helps others solve their Samsung side-by-side fridge issues as well.

I just came back to say thank you so much! I had exactly the same problem. Checked the board and the diode DS2, which is the big one of the three and is of type SB2100, was shorted. Replaced it and works like a charm. Total cost 12eur, 0.1eur the diode 11eur fast shipping. My fridge is also the RS75XXX variant. cheers!

Oh, man, this rocks. I am sure you are making people's days and today you made mine :-) We returned from holiday last Sunday and the fridge was dead, no power. To cut a long story short: called Samsung, they filed a service request, Monday morning the service called back - they gave me a slot in 2 weeks (!!! really great to be for that long without a fridge, which, btw, was full includingh the freezer....) Also they claimed that just diagnosing the problem would cost 2000 CZK (abt 67 GBP), plus the price of the PCB (which would surely be replaced completely) is abt 2500 CZK (abt 85 GBP). Plus, my best guess abt additional 50-100 GBP for the technican time and miles to come here.. Having watched your video I checked the DS2 diode and, what a surprise, found it shorted. Took less that 24 hrs to get a new one delivered (I used SB3100 - the 3Amps one). The diode incl. delivery costed 2 GBP (of that 1.5 was delivering the package :-D) So, to summatize: - cost saved: probably abt 200-250 GBP - time saved: 11 days. T H A N K Y O U ! you really made my day!

I wanted to share my experience after watching your video just so I can also help anybody who's Samsung American fridge suddenly looses power, I had the same issue with mine, after watching your video I decided I was going to order the part and attempt to fix my self, I rang an engineer and was quoted £160 plus vat plus parts to fix my ff, he said on the phone it was a common fault with one of the PCb, so I decided I look on you tube before forking out that much, I ordered off amazon for next day delivery, I paid a little more than I could've got off ebay but I was after a quick turn around, I was supprised there was so little available on amazon and not as many reviews as I'd like but ordered it anyway as I thought as amazon if it doesn't fix the issue I could send it back. The part came as expected the next day so I fitted it like in the video, but the fridge still had no power I was literally on the verge of giving up so I went to put the part into the box for a return to amazon for a refund, it was then I noticed that the box the new part came in had a stanly blade mark up the box, and seen as though I carefully ripped the bag the box came in I then realised this had been sent out before to somebody else and I suspectected I'd been sent a duff part where somebody had had the same issue then posted their broken one back to amazon!, I returned the parcel explaining my reasons and I was given a refund from amazon, I proceeded to buy another part of a Samsung approved dealer cost me £80 next day delivery, it came I fitted and the fridge fired straight up!, moral of the storey if you do order of amazon or Ebay bare in mind there are some idiots out there doing this and had I not seen the slash on the box I was first sent I would have thrown a perfectly good ff, thanks for you video your a lifesaver

I don't have an SB2100 diode lying around, and it's weekend, would it be possible to replace with an FR207? Still have that one. It's not a Schottky and it's 2A - 1000V in stead of 2A - 100V

Good video. Diode DS2 on the board was short circuit. Will new board be modified to prevent repeat failiure? Do Samsung or anybody else sell repair kit for board? Do Samsung have a technical support address/telephone number?

Not sure if the new board has modification to prevent repeat failure. Samsung service centre may be able to help? There number is : 0330 726 7575 Maybe they can answer if a repair kit is available as you mention? Suppose it depends on the cost comparison between repair kit and buying the whole new board. I have just had a look on Amazon (21/12/21, @ 3.30pm), and yes you are right there is not much on there for this part. I have only seen 1 part and that seems rather on the expensive side, it is around £91, considering I bought it for £57.90 back in June 2021. But I have also looked on eBay and there it is selling for a similar price to what I payed, and also Espares.co.uk is also selling it at a similar price. All I can suggest is maybe consider buying from eBay or espares? Only reason I bought from Amazon was due to the faster delivery time, eBay was going to deliver by 3 days later than Amazon. It’s the same part, but I suppose it all depends on how soon/urgent you need it. I hope this helps.

Our fridge has also a power issue, the led lights up for half a second and then no more, the fridge looks completely dead, no power at all. Is replacing this specific pcb the solution to this problem? I’m not sure if the maker of this video also had a short light up of the led.

Hi Wolter, I do not recall the led coming on,. It was totally out when the power was switched on, and fridge without any power. I would more than likely think it may be the same issue, as many people that have commented to this video experienced it, and resolved with the part. Hope this helps. @@SmartInspo I did investigate the power pcb a bit more and noticed a probably malfunctioning Schottky diode (mentioned by someone else in a comment) as it seemed to to be short-circuit. I got a new one from a store (a bit higher amps) and have replaced it on the pcb. After putting the pcb back on the fridge and connecting the power cable the fridge was completely operational again! This was a very satisfying fix 😁
