I upgraded from the GB2 Pro 360 to the GB5 Pro 360. I took advantage of the $250 trade-in perk. I'm glad it did for many reasons, including display and performance improvements. Without the trade-in benefit, I probably would not have made the purchase to upgrade to lunar lake.

Is this a review or a comparison with the book 4 edge? Perhaps the name alone was not enough to reveal this detail, but the _Book5 pro 360_ is the successor to the _Book4 pro 360_ and NOT a revision of the _Book4 edge._ The latter is instead the ARM model of Samsung laptops and shares little with its Intel colleagues, both inside and out.

Could you please offer some feedback on the trackpad and palm rejection. My experience with both the 16" GB4P and GB4E trackpads was just unbearable with cursor jumping all over the screen while typing. This appears to be the same comicly oversized trackpad which leaves me wondering. Thanks

@andyH_EnglandАй бұрын
The issue with having RAM on the chip system is that it is costly to have a separate manufacturing run for 32GB models, and some OEMs are unwilling to add this cost. One thing Apple was good at was having lots of options, but upgrading Macs was another reason why it was more expensive, not only because of the extra RAM/SSD but also because of the added cost of separate runs to build them.
@JUICEbaseball23 күн бұрын
It's the same shit I've said the last 5 years... Samsung's "PRO" model has Windows 11 Home on it - NOT "PRO". Samsung's "PRO" model has only a 16GB option. As a 30+ year Graphic Designer running Adobe products, this is the killing stroke for me, and that's why I will always choose Dell or Lenovo over Samsung, eventhough I would love to use the S-Pen, but all 3 companies use Wacom technology with their Styluses, so it's not that big of a deal. That god-awful 1/2" chin on the bottom of their screen is so much of a design error it's almost unfathomable. This is supposed to be a machine that appeals to "PRO" creatives, yet it's so much NOT a "PRO" device that it's comical... Let's also point out many things over the years about the trackpad not being haptic, and the cheap non-Samsung SSD, too... I'm Samsung user too with a Tab S8 Ultra, an S23 Ultra, a Galaxy Wear OS watch, Samsung monitors and TV's all over my house as well. It's disappointing that this mega-brand just obviously will never do Windows Computers right. Just insane.

@andyH_EnglandАй бұрын
It is very generic. I have the first generation, and this looks the same. It is costly in the UK: 512GB/16GB is £1700 (1TB is £1900) with no dedicated GPU. This terrible move to a 16GB minimum means these are priced well outside the market for most people. I remember my Gen-1 8GB being around £1000 four years ago. There is no 32GB option for those who need more RAM (ATM). I prefer 15-17-inch displays, so this would have made my shortlist if it had a cheaper, lower-spec option. I am not a fan of the numpad, keyboard, or trackpad, but when using it on a desk, I can nullify those with accessories. It is hard to recommend, but hopefully, these will drop in price in a year, so people who cannot afford £1700 for an ultrabook have a chance of buying a premium device. The Snapdragon Galaxy Book4 Edge (not 360) can be had for around £850 secondhand on eBay as people realise the problems with the X Elite chips and the price drops.
