My thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 after all this time. This is the reason why longer support matters. People would absolutely still be using their Note 9, and they should. It's still capable for many tasks, and wouldn't need to be upgraded if you still needed some of its features.

I still have my Note 9, it's not in use anymore but I kept it 😂. Same with my Nexus 5.

Most complete phone ever released. Just a month or two ago, replaced my Note 9 as my work phone. An S22Ultra now does it's task. But man, the Note 9 did me well for 5-6yrs. Still works great, if you have some patience. The battery is still original as well. I can almost get a full day out of it lol. Great phone.

I absolutely loved that phone. Still my favorite Note, and I've had them since the 5 and all the ultras. Landed on s23 U and I'll ride with it for a few years but man, was that Note 9 nice.

What you're talking about should be what the FE series should become. Could you imagine if Samsung did this? It probably never is going to happen, but let's say this. Instead of S25 FE, they rebrand it just as the FE (2025 edition) and it's basically a repackaged and upgraded Note 9. Slightly bigger battery (4,300mAH) to keep it smaller. Give it newer cameras: drop the ultra wide for a 12MP or 50MP telephoto with optical 3x zoom and hybrid 5x zoom, and a main 12MP or 50MP or even bring back the 64MP. Put in a slightly older, but newer chip like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Something that prioritizes battery life. Keep the headphone jack, Iris scanner, and the rear physical fingerprint scanner. Keep the heart reader too. Keep the S-Pen with Bluetooth features. Could make the screen flat with a LTPO display and give the frame and back a matte texture while providing a variety of colors like the S20 FE lineup did. Samsung would make bank on that. It's easy money. This definitely won't happen but it would be cool if it did.

Good video and I was never a note fan as it was too big but I still have my Galaxy S9 and it's a great little phone I put my SIM in it recently just to check it and yeah it's slower then my s24 but it's got an SD card support and it's got a headphone jack and it's got the fingerprint scanner on the back which works 100% of the time ,all the time ,every time and I really like curved screen and how well the S9 fits in your hand and it's only 5.8 screen which would be so nice if somebody would make a phone this screen size again. And so the phone is only running on Android 10 and so if this thing still got support it would be the killer phone.

The Note 9 is for me amongst the top 3 of all phones, and yes I've still got it. I do every now and then put my SIM 3 or 4 in it👍. When I got it there was only one thing that I missed, and that was a wide angle lens. Other than that....perfect!

Absolutely valid point also longer support will give phone more resell value. And ppl can in 4 5 years still get pixel 8 or 9 that’s still be supported for a while for ridiculous cheap and won’t feel outdated yet. That’s why iPhones sell for so much still even so they are old. Software support plays a big reason in that.

The last truly competitive note phone Samsung made before going down that Apple rabbit hole. This phone had absolutely no compromises. Sd card expansion, headphone jack, all of the accessories, etc. If this phone was still receiving updates it'd be my go to. Samsung must have realized this so they only introduced 7 years of support on their new phones.

Indeed the Note 9 is still a great phone! You made excellent points on the upgrade and support cycles! Companies need to cater more to the consumers again and less on their bottom line! "Give the people what they want!!!"
