What is the benefit to getting a smart ring in addition too or instead of a smart watch It sounds like a solution looking for a problem to me Change my mind 🤷🏻♂️
@TheErsatzCrabАй бұрын
There's really no benefit if you already have a smartwatch. Personally, I prefer to wear non-smart (mechanical or quartz) watches, so a smart ring is appealing to me so I can still have health and fitness tracking without needing a watch.
@headerahelixАй бұрын
Benefit: two readings will always be better than one. And redundancy: if you're charging one, you'll have the other available in all likelihood. It's also very easy for the watches to lose skin contact during exercise and sleep, which is an issue the ring solves.

At that price range and being such a niche product, I’m surprised this exists. Maybe it’ll drop in price in the months following like Samsung phones normally do but $400 is quite the ask
@TheErsatzCrabАй бұрын
That's fair. If you own it more than 16 months, though, it'll even out to the same price of the Oura since they have a $6/month subscription.
@Digital-_-SpiritАй бұрын
@@TheErsatzCrab It will be interesting to see if these rings catch on in popularity. When smartwatches first came out, they were very much a solution in search of a problem but the health features have given them great value. So a wearable piece of tech that’s sole purpose is health monitoring makes lots of sense. I do see a friction point being that it has less heath tracking features than a smartwatch (this is partly why I believe the Apple Watches became more popular than Fitbits).
