If it had a rotating bezel and crown, it would not be as good to take into the water. I had my classic in the lake all the time, constantly made the bezel get crunchy from sand.

People keep saying that the GWU is rated for diving. No it is not. You can swim and do water sports with it but it is most certainly not rated for deep sea diving. The AWU is and maybe that's where the confusion comes from, since Samsung copied just about everything from the AWU so people just think they copied the diving capabilities, depth sensor and water temperature sensor but they didn't.

Remember, Samsung began life quite literally copying foreign companies electronics for the South Korean market, because they had bans on importing from places like Japan. It's very much in their DNA. Also remember Apple sued them and won for copying the iPhone back in the day. Samsung literally had internal documentation saying "copy this" on multiple aspects of the iPhone and iPhone OS (as it was at the time) UI.

Apple won the design award for earbuds style. Now about screen real estate on their phones. I don't like comparing the watches. They don't look anything like the other. It's funny if you own a SWU. I've watched dozen of reviews since the Ultra watch came out and yours is simply awesome 👍👍👍 It sums up perfectly this ultra watch context: Samsung's first step in a upper level category. I miss the rotating bezel and the new button is a gadget. Owner of a watch 6 classic I came up exactly to your same conclusion : it lacks of a somethning to upgrade from the watch 6 classic 47 mm to the ultra. Bravo 😉 See you next year at the same time for a 2nd new ultra 🤣

I wanted the ultra for my upgrade worthy gw4 classic but damn I'm stuck with either a chunky watch that I can't wear with every outfit without it screaming look at me or a watch which Essentially feels like a downgrade due to no bezel. I more kiss the esthetic. Sure the g6 classic is still present but it's the chip as I felt all of them are slow hoping this would be better. What a weird place to be at the moment

1 more thing, watch is chunky because your wrist are way too small for the watch, same goes for the Apple smart Watch, If you have any knowledge regarding watches, and you supose to have if you do a review of a watch, you must know that to wear a size 47mm watch, your wrist must be big enough for it. It is not designed for small people with small wrist. I know, you as an apple user like to show off that you have a apple watch ultra, but you dont have the wrists for it, just pure show off. Buy a watch that suits your wrist size. Same I buy size 14 shoes and complain they are chunky and loose, because my feets are too small for size 14. For me personnaly as a 6 feet 9 guy, this watch does not feel chunky as it is the perfect size for me,

The no physical bezel is the dumbest decision and they will lose sales by omitting this unique Samsung feature. Exclusive Classic, sure, but stupid nonetheless. Looks wise it's a supersized Gear Sport (2017). Except that one did have the turning bezel. I'm sure they hope to sell both the Classic and the Ultra to the same buyer. When and if there's a 10 ATM Pixel XL watch I will take a long hard look at that as I can't get the turning bezel anyway. The Samsung Bioactive sensors are more advanced than what the Apple Watch sports, let's see how they perform. The AGEs is an actionable metric for improving your vascular system, which is interesting. The processor is impressive, too. Since the sensors will come to the Classic, likely 2025, the Ultra price premium brings only 10 ATM. Not enough.

Why would they put a rotating bezel on a rugged watch that’s meant to be used in all sorts of environments? Dust, dirt, grime, and other particles in water could easily cause issues with the mechanical bezel over time. They’re removing points of failure to ensure that the watch can be more durable for a more durable watch.

Likely there will be snow and ice at K2, or Mount Everest, or other peaks at really high altitudes, or any icy or snowy cold climate. Samsung was first with the Ultra moniker on its devices. So of course it was coming to the watch. Why didn't anybody question Apples naming scheme. Some of the other points are valid. Some of the look and features were lifted, but all companies do that. ( I wish they didn't ) There is no innovation or even a desire to stand out anymore.
