Thanks! If I remember correctly, one of the mmWave 5G antenna for networks that use the mmWave 5G technology goes on that connector. So for example the Verizon version of this phone would have the mmWave 5G antenna connected there. This one that I had taken apart was an international variant.

​@@bojananicic4410 First, make sure your phone is compatible with the network you are trying to use it on, second make sure your sim card is not the problem and try a new sim card. If the problem still persists, you can disassemble your phone and make sure the top and bottom plastic covers with the light grey antenna lines running through them are seated properly in place and screwed down. Also make sure all flex cables and cables are attached and have not been disconnected.

I could call and they could call me, I had a signal. I came home and took the card out of that phone and put it in another one, after 2 days I decided that I would still use that new phone that I bought Samsung s10 5g. however when i put the card next to it again, suddenly my signal was lost, i tried to restart the whole phone, i put everything back to factory and when i turned it on and tried again, nothing changed. there is no signal at all, I don't know what could have happened when I didn't even use it, how is it possible for it to lose the signal just like that, on its own..and I live in Slovakia, when I went to the service to ask for repairs they said that they can't because you've never seen s10 5g live before, and that this phone was made for another market and that they can't help me with that in any way. now I don't know what to do and how to fix it myself .. is there any application or something to check the signal on the phone, for example to see if its antenna works or what it is about? and can I somehow see if it's locked to some network? thanks again in advance!

that lil connector is most definitely for a 5G mmwave antenna. My N976V has them while the other N975s don't so I'm assuming the connector would be for Verizons MMWave.

Possible but I don't think so, since the slots for the mmWave antenna are on the top left and bottom right of the frame as you can see which are empty on this phones frame, and the connector is way out of place for them to be connected to.

Do you know by any chance the name of the small component that you leave attached to the frame with the one screw you didn't remove? It's right above the vomume buttons. I'm guessing it's an antenna. The American version has an additional one to the right side of the battery and goes in the notch that you can see in your frame. I'm trying to find them but don't seem to bump into them.

Hi, those are the mmwave 5G antenna slots, for which the US version will probably have the mmwave 5G antennas seated for the carrier that use that type of 5g network.

There are antenna lines on the plastic covers inside in addition to antenna contact points on the board which are seated on the frame to make contact with the antennas in the frame. You would need to make sure the plastic covers on the inside of the phone are screwed down properly as well as no loose or disconnected cables inside and the motherboard is also seated properly.

@@PBKreviews so i've had it checked by an engineer and they found no problems in the phone or the connections. So far it seems to be behaving at the repair shop. But it might be ok in that area but i know it's not reliable as i'm travelling around. My S9 plus is an absolute rock of a phone and always has full signal and great download speed. But as soon as i put the sim into S10 it becomes useless. Will hardly connect, drops in and pout of signal and as a mobile phone is redundant. So do you think it's worth fitting a new antenna to try. Also it only ever says LTE, not 4G. Where as my S9 always says 4G. I am on 3 network. So it works fine on one and useless on the other. Any other suggestions please? MAny thanks

Hi, There are numerous antennas and contacts, not sure exactly which is for what but the top black plastic cover as well as the speaker assembly plastic housing on the bottom both have light grey colored antenna lines drawn on them so I would make sure those are screwed down properly since they make contact with gold contact points on the board to provide signal. Also the flex cables leading from main board to sub board should be properly connected and make sure they are not disconnected since the sub board (charger port board) has antenna contacts on it as well.

Its a theory but I don't think it will be for a service port. Usually they use those smaller circular antenna looking ports for servicing but regardless there is also a cut in the frame on the right side of the battery where there is 2 screw mounts with no screws attached or anything screwed into place there, so I am almost positive there is another version of this phone thats going to make use of that and the connector on top just wont know till it comes out worldwide lol

Hi, its not difficult, just held down with adhesive. So once you take apart the phone to the point you have access to the battery and have disconnected the battery cable, all you need to do is heat the front of the phone where the screen is with a hair dryer so you can warm up the adhesive underneath the battery to loosen it up. Then you use plastic pry tools to gently pry the battery off from the midframe (keep in mind not to bend to much or pierce the battery to avoid the chance of it catching fire or shorting etc.). You should be able to find replacements on ebay or amazon.

No should be fine, the mic is there. Its too small of a hole to mess with the integrity of the water seal per say but if you mess with the hole enough and make it larger then it would potentially pose a risk.

Might be those circle connectors to either side of the flex cable that has "main" written on it that is connected to the motherboard. Or the circular connector to the top right of the cameras on the main board but those can also just be test ports so not sure.

The circular connectors are generally for antennas. The mystery port would probably a JTAG debug port used for programming and testing the processor during development. Comes in handy when your software updating mechanisms are not completely in place.

ya sometimes they use ports for testing but this port I doubt. Since early pics of the sprint version showed a 5G logo on the back, I either lean toward it being for a light up back, or a certain carrier 5G antenna booster for certain bands. Possibly something else, if you look at 1:34 in the video on the right side of the battery, there is a milled out or cut out 4 half square design in the frame with a screw mount on either side but nothing is there and its left empty. Its there for a reason so I am very curious what they will be mounting there as well. I am positive the version of the phone that makes use of the connector will have something mounted there as well. So we will have to wait and see :) I will try and get my hands on other versions and see if I can solve the mystery

Sir I have a important question. My 5g front screen is cracked and I would like to repair it. But can I do Glass ONLY or does it have to be the whole screen? And at what point can I start separating the glass only from digitazer. ( I called a repair shop they charge 320 to replace the entire screen. End user can't really replace the glass by itself. You need special tools and machines to be able to take the glass off and apply a new one and make sure no dust or debris is underneath as well as making sure the touch is working accurately and in the right places. Your always best off doing a complete screen replacement anyways. No point in spending money and trying to just do the glass and render the phone useless and have to spend again to replace the entire screen. Try contacting samsung and asking them how much they would charge to replace the screen.

No it has the 5g modem built in with the board, i think that will be for a carrier specific version with maybe a light up logo on the back or some other thing not sure yet. Whatever it is, its going to be for the back area maybe a specific carrier (network provider) band antenna booster not sure all just theories for now

Your best bet in finding a replacement screen would be ebay or amazon, but not sure when they will be available. You can always contact samsung as well to send it to them and have it repaired

lol damn that sucks. Check www.mobiledefenders.com they usually have original parts for the phone if needed. Also the static can possibly be causing by metal shavings or other stuff getting attracted by the magnets to the speaker filter causing the distortion. Replacing the mesh speaker filter/grill fixes that issue if that is the case.

It might also be a connector for a 5G booster for a certain carrier. I remember way back in the day motorola did something similar for verizon if I am not mistaken on the droid maxx where they used a spectrum/band booster or something like that on the back of the phone to boost signal for LTE.

The antenna are ran throw the plastic pieces, the grey or light colored lines, as for the modem not sure exactly where it is located, didnt want to pry off the shields and risk damaging the board since I'm planning on using the phone for a bit

This board assembly is different from the original Samsung. Cause the charging port on this is modular and on the original s10 it a hold board that don't make sense Samsung is rip in people off

Ya I don't think it will cost $1000+ but probably the screen, 5g tech behind the phone and such will push up the price along with the 3D ToF sensors both in front and back, and the possibility of UFS 3.0 (since I didn't pry off the shields on the board to see). But again I don't see it going over 1K but I could be wrong

Wth, the 5g models is more repairable than the regular one 🤣🤣. Really hate it since the port is not soldered on on this 5g models. I've got experience from s2 n s4 that the charging port won't work after 4-5 years. So, I've got to get a new device in the fourth or fifth years of using the regular ones. So sad

Yea they should make all charger ports replaceable, its a common piece that wears out and not everyone using wireless charging or carries a wireless charging pad around with them

@@youssefbounou6127 lol. Its not that sensitive. I've used metal tools on phones with batteries connected a lot back in the day and never had any issues. The possibility is there if you happen to touch and make a connection between to chips or circuits to spark and damage it but as far as exploding I don't see that happening unless you are actually shorting the battery connector head or piercing the battery itself with a metal object.

Here is a link to a picture where I circled locations. The green circled areas are the antenna lines which run through the plastic covers. Not sure exactly which is for 5G or wifi etc. The red circled areas are where the mmWave antennas for 5G networks like verizon would go. But since this model was not a verizon phone it did not have the mmWave 5G antennas. ibb.co/GVZSkFw

You would probably need to find a S10 5G with a broken screen which someone is selling online for parts to be able to take the main board out. Or if someone parted their phone. Not sure what either would run, I'm sure price would vary from seller to seller.

Rated capacity says 4400 mAh but typical capacity says 4500 mAh. All batteries have that 100 mAh difference between the two ratings listed on them for samsung.
