I got mine a few days ago and had issues with the fingerprint scanner. Solved it by adding my thumb in twice as fingerprint 1 and 2. Works like a dream now

Yea i learned that on my s10+ so when I got the s20+ i was prepared for it. I put it in at least twice. The ultrasonic fingerprint scanner works fine if you know how to set it up correctly and use it.

Probably software aint it...the fingerprint scanner is great but its just probably the software or something cuz its the same fingerprint sensor in the s20 which can be found in the s10...but overall its a really awesome fingerprint scanner!

Yes same sensor as the S10 is in the S20. But for whatever reason after the S10 got an update for the fingerprint sensor it screwed my S10+. Now with my S20+ it works almost every time. Maybe it's the 865 who knows 🤷

The only option that I have is go to S20 Ultra, that much bigger and expensive than S20+. And now, Samsung removed dual aperture and dual pixel, that had been the camera quality differentials from the rest. So, I will pass the new S20 line up entirely.

Excellent review, as always! 👌 Got the S20+ and I'm extremely satisfied with it. I think the Ultra would've just been too much for me, in terms of both size and weight. The Plus hits just the right balance, though the regular S20 is by no means a slouch either. Those prices though... 🤕

Agreed. The depth sensor on the Plus makes little to no difference to photos, and the battery life has been shown to be a gain of about a whopping half an hour. Yes the screen is bigger on the Plus, but then you lose out on the one handed comfort and ease of use of the regular s20.

They are not the same cameras, the sensors on the S20 and S20+ are by Sony and the Ultra's sensor was developed in house by Samsung.

From my experience with the ultra, the 100x zoom is a gimmick and the S20 plus is the better phone. I am excited for the note 20 and I think that will be an amazing everyday carry with the fast screen refresh and split screen on a note cannot be beat. Just my humble opinion.

I agree. I sent the Ultra back after playing with the plus in Bestbuy. Camera has no focusing issues and feels better to hold. I was also surprised to see that the 5g icon was lit. I'm on Sprint and nothing on the sight says my area which is st Pete and Tampa is an area that has it. Wasn't mm wave speeds but still was above 150mps and 80 upload.

Well I don't see any real reason to upgrade from the galaxy S10+, based on the cameras, or the newer processor. I still have triple cameras and the night sight. Most of all, to me, I still have a headphone jack that can use my AKG and Audio Tecnica headphones. Nuff said.

No need for it. It's exactly the same experience but with about 30 mins less screen on time, and no depth sensor camera (which makes basically no difference anyway). So the only real difference is the screen size. But the s20's 6.2 inches is big enough.

S20 Plus seems like a more all round balanced & refined & practical phone than the S20 Ultra which seems like an overhyped beast. I love the size and most things about the S20+ but the Dolby Atmos and the speakers really let it down. I've been told that all the S20 lines are all the same. The S10 range has perfect speakers so for that reason if you're looking for great audio, go for the S10+

I'm not using 120 Hz refresh rate. I moved from the S10 to the S20+ for one major reason, battery life! I've always changed the animation scales of my phones in developer options to .5x anyway and this has a pretty similar effect to the 120 Hz High Refresh Rate so don't see the point in wasting my precious battery life.

I don't know what's wrong with the review units but i never had any problem with my S20+ Fingerprint Scanner. I only registered once for each thumb, and still have the screen protector that it shipped with on my phone. The scanner on my phone probably only failed to scan once in a full day's use.

I have this phone and I really wanted to love it. But having come from a Huawei P20 Pro I'm very disappointed with the battery on the S20+. I'm a heavy user and the Samsung is barely giving me barely 3 hours screen on time vs the P20 which was 4-5 hours. The S20 dies 4 hours sooner than my two year old P20. And this is even though I'm running it at 60hz . I'll be returning the Samsung and going back to my trusted Huawei.

Honestly I still really don't believe the majority of people are even going to notice the difference in the refresh rate for their normal tasks. Personally I would prefer the slightly better resolution for majority of things. I love when my text is crisp and clear. I find when using 1080p on a larger screen that text looks a little worse.

They removed the headphone jack, which is a reason, at least for me, to still prefer a S10, because I need it so often and most of the time not even for headphones.

Yep same here, only thing that will plague the S10 is the not modular charging port connected to the motherboard

Idk why you have problems with the fingerprint sensor, mine works perfect and all the other reviewers say it isn't an issue anymore. Did you just need something to bitch about? I've been very pleased with how much it has improved from the S10+ and have never been locked out of my phone.

I heard in a different video the camera sensor in the 20 and 20+ are sony and the sensor in the ultra is made by Samsung. Is that true?

no. all rear camera sensors are Samsung. snapdragon front cameras on s20 s20 plus are Sony.

Go Sony Xperia 1ii then since its got 3.5mm and expandable storage. Its also a great phone with a pretty underrated camera. Not to mention its noticeably faster than any S20 model.
