wow, thank you so much for this bro! it looks easy and simple in the video. but i think i just might take my s21 ultra to a repair shop instead, and get a entirely new back cover.😭 the plastic aluminum part of the camera cover, was scraped off at the edges. It looks so bad imo. And my camera lens aren't broken, but my lens protector are so the lens protector shattered and broke over time.:( but thanks to this, i know now that my phone can still be recovered! i won't need to get a new phone after all. thanks once again for staring this bro! You're welcome bro, if it is only one lens You could change that one alone without removing the back cover, but you'll have to be more careful not to touch the camera itself and doing it with camera facing down with you looking up with protection for eye so that particles of glass fell down and not inside the device. 😅it a bit weird to explain in comments. Or you just do it like in the video.

I really think you can do it without removing the whole back. You just have to be carefull with the particles of glass. When I was removing the other broken lens I was not using heat at all. Use a sharp thing to remove the glass while it's facing the earth ( put eye protection glass) broken glass will fall down instead of inside the device. With a little hearing of the camera bumps it's should be possible( it less work than doing the back all over again)

How did you heat the lenses?

@@joshniemantsverdriet7786 i used a hair dryer and the metal sim card pin 📍 to pick out and remove the broken glass. Don't use too much heat you don't want to damage the cameras. Just so you know the glass ring lens has a black ring ring around each camera lens so they just stick on. Something like a sim card pin 📍can be used to gently remove the lens and the black ring glued stickers. And whatever you do do not ever use a heat gun for this it will melt your phone. I had a guy that spilt water on his laptop and tried to dry the laptop keyboard with a heatgun and it melted his keyboard it a matter of seconds it was so bad 🤣 .....so stick to a hair dryer and be patient.

No you do not have to change all of them. Just the one you need to replace. I did it all to show the process for everything in a single video.

I see that the camera bump in s21 ultra is metal. Is it okay to lay the phone in a surface where the camera bump touches first? Are the lenses protected?

You should have a case because it doesn't take much to leave a scratch on the metal camera bump. Once it's scratched your gonna notice that shiny line/points. Gotta make sure the phone doesn't slide or while taking it you don't slide and then raise. None of the lenses are protected in the event of a scratch it's gonna be notice in your pictures (only if the scratch is big enough to interact with your camera focus)

What is the most water-resistant method of replacing the camera glass? Replacing the entire back plate of phone? Or use old phone plate with new gasket?

I think that replacing the whole back once is the best way to conserve better water resistance. Changing the aluminum cameras frame only will have you manipulate the camera frame/tape and backglass/tape. The more you manipulate the pieces the higher the chance of forgetting something or making a mistake

This was mainly to show. You can replace it with our removing the back panel. I make multiple other videos where I didn't remove the back panel.and simply replaced the camera glasses.

Hey, unfortunately if shaking the device doesn't do anything you will have to open the back and clean the camera. Shaking the device is only temporary solution. The best is opening the back glass, clean everything, test the camera and seal properly. Less than 1 month that sounds like a faulty back or the inside of the device was dirty when the rear cover was sealed.

I think they should be able to do all that repair, they kinda have training on everything. They gonna charge you a lot if your not in their plans or insured. I also think there are a lot of people skilled that can remove the back without a single scratch it very feasible Samsung official repair shop or official stores also can do the repair 👍🏽

the only phone with the plastic back is the regular s21. The s21 plus and ultra have glass backs just has a matte Victus coating

They will most likely not work as Samsung changes sizes and thickness or these camera glasses every year or from device to device. Just do a full back replacement it will work too.

I think you should not count on it being really really waterproof the tape they provided was too thin ( not same thickness as the original). Technically it might still hold but maybe for 2 to 3 minutes. Splashes and a few seconds plunged it might be fine

none of my lenses are cracked, they have condensation in them though after a dip in the bath last night. would you suggest just getting the back off and drying the lenses out from the inside?

That would be my recommendation, but once you take the back off you need to reinstall it with a new double sided tape. You should do that because the condensation point to a failure in the seals somewhere, and who know your device can get worse if water interact with electronics components. The other issue maybe or maybe not is getting the double sided tape alone. You may be lucky to have a parts seller sell you the tape alone.

I've just dropped mine and the bottom camera (periscope) is now cracked. Do you have to take it apart to replace it? It looks like if you are careful you can remove the lenses without dismantling the phone.

@@onexsp1492 rather frustratingly my partner took it to a phone repair shop while I was at work. The repair itself is actually quite easy. Buy an OEM kit from eBay and just take your time. If the lense has a hole in it you'll be able to get some super thin tweezers in and lift out the broken glass. Id say take it to a phone shop first though, most shops around here quote £20-30 which is cheap

When I try using the ultrawide camera, it looked blurry and the images came out looking not sharp enough. Unfortunately if the camera lens is cracked in such a way, you can confirm if the camera is good by only removing the back and test the camera without any lens/glass. $10 wow you must have some warranty or plans that give you access to these kinds of discounted prices 👍🏽

Absolutely, you should avoid any water contact. Even small cracks if submersed in water water might infiltrate your device

Hummm it's complicated Will depend on the quality of the back cover and back double sided tape. It's simply safer to avoid water after you do a repair (specially submerging the device). I have another video I tested a s21 water resistance after repair and 😂😂😂 survived but needed repair again

s 21 ultra has a glass back as well as the plus model but not the regular s21 that one has a plastic back and it's the only one that does

It's got a scratch only. Can I put the heat gun at 80 on my camera lens for 2 minutes and pull off the scratched lens?

Yes it's possible to do it that way the only risk is getting small piece of glass on the inside (you can tap tap the edge of the device to drop any small glass if any is stuck in the camera) or use a vaccum to suck anything that dropped inside. If it's only a scratch and the lens is not broken you can use a sharp tool like I did go under the glass and remove it. 2 minutes might be too much I advise you to start 30 seconds if the glass doesn't come off add extra heat that way you lower any risk of Overheating the sensors

The back of the S21 is plastic. The backs of the plus and ultra are Gorilla Glass Victus.

I would not count this as waterproof again. Maybe 1 minute in water only and that’s if the repair was done correctly. The two piece elements in the back does not help. A single piece back cover would be more waterproof in my opinion
