I don't get the hype though. Compared to the Android competition, the cameras are not top quality (unless they get this new 1 inch sensor), the battery is still 5000mAh, the screen probably from last year, the charging speed at only 45w, the price too high, what are we talking about here? The only main advantage is the 7 years of updates.

Also add mediocre speakers and haptics, and s24u is heavier then contemporarys as well. The face id is the worst of all flagships. It's disappointing that samsung has become the least innovative high end phone company. Things like the design and ultrawide camera and charging speed on the s24u are 3-4yrs old. Considering the competition that's ridiculous. And yet it looks like they are not really changing anything yet again. I own an s24u and fold 6 and usually upgrade yearly but I'm thinking about boycotting samsung for the next few years, they are simply not worth the money compared to competition. My favourite phone is my pixel 9 pro xl. 🤷♂️

My gripe is that I want a camera that's better than just "decent", I would like an exceptional phone camera but with the hardware and customization options of Samsung. Right now, I'm going to be faced with the choice of getting an exceptional phone (S25U) with what will most likely be average to below average camera performance or getting a deal on the Pixel 9 Pro, which has an exceptional camera but, in my opinion, sub-par hardware and software which sorely lacks customization options compared to it's competitors like Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, etc. I feel like I'm forced to compromise, whatever choice I go for. Ideally I'd just get a Samsung and a Pixel and problem solved but that's a hefty amount of money to pay for two flagship phones. They ain't cheap.

The problem is that there are not enough games that require the added power, Snapdragon Elite chip is definitely a good push in the right direction and will make developers reconsider releasing more demanding AAA titles to the Android world but we are not there yet and probably will not be for at least a couple of years to come. My point is buying the phone for its raw performance is not financially wise since you can get great discounts on s24 ultra and it will run everything the s25 ultra will run since we don't have any gaming library to justify the price of the s25 ultra which is rumoured to be $100 more expensive than s24 ultra on launch. Maybe wait till there is enough gaming titles which could take several years and then buy the newer phone then which will be leaps above what s25 ultra has to offer. S24 ultra had that 7 year support which made it outshine the s23 ultra and makes it today even a tempting proposition against the s25 ultra.

@Nomadtibet59 I have the s24 ultra and the s24plus (snapdragon). I got a good deal on the s24+ and figured I'd probably resell it. But except for the spen and the 5x lens, I prefer it over the ultra. I'm running it right now with the oneui 7 beta. Not trying to change your mind. Just saying. I think the s24plus is underrated.

OnePlus 13 will make this phone not as desirable. Factor in all the bloat and services Sammy does not let you remove as well.

Yep!! Just look at the battery. Some are even contending that the camera output now exceeds that of apple & Samsung.

OP 13 seems to be a huge leap. The biggest downside of Oneplus phones lately were always the camera quality and they really improved this aspect. It's going to be amazing phone.

I agree with you the OnePlus 13 will definitely put a dent and Samsung's shine but I don't think it has anything to do with the bloatware which I don't really think Samsung phones have bloatware anymore That's just something people say that don't like Samsung. All you have to do is stick to Samsung apps in a folder disable them and they're done but some of Samsung's apps actually are pretty good that being said I'm probably going to get a OnePlus 13 cuz I think it's the best value for dollar but it has nothing to do with so-called Samsung boatwear

5000mah lithium iron battery and last years screen technology. The M14 screens they supply to google and apple are newer generation. 45w slow charge... What exactly are we paying for? Chineese phones are so far ahead... Samsung and apple should be embarrassed
