Samsung Galaxy S3 Broken after 1 14" drop!!!!!

I agree, I love all of my samsungs plenty but as a device prone to drops, it should be built to handle some understandable human error. My HTC Evo survived some gnarly bashes and thrashes on concrete, pavement, hiking on slickrock like a champ as well as my Samsung Infuse (galaxy s 1.5). The s3 has been my most fragile awkward phones I've ever handled in terms of external engineering.

I have a galaxy s3 also and have dropped it from higher than a ft and it's perfectly fine. I will say however a case for this phone is the smart way to go!

Ya I don't suspect Samsung will do anything either but it doesn't hurt to try. Honestly EVERY SMART PHONE should be able to withstand a minor impact no excuses. Yes $250. Is steep but I haven’t really done much shopping around, I'm going to give it a few days to see what Samsung says.

thats really weird, Ill have to question what you are telling us because I own an S3 for about a year and a half now and I did dropped several times even running and it works perfectly fine with only minor scratches. I think its a fairly strong phone,

mine fell out of my sweatshirt pocket from a lifted truck about 6in lift on an already high f250, battery cover popped off and a huge dent in the side bezel of the phone but no internal problems whatsoever

ive had mine for about 2 months with an otterbox on it since day 1 and dropped it today and my phone now has the black screen as well

I just dropped mine and the same thing happened.It was dropped from about 3 ft on wood.The screen worked for a little while with a small smudge on the screen then it slowly went out.I have only had it for 2 months...this sux.but i can still access my s voice and do commands like tell it to read me my text msgs,call contacts,play music,set alarm,and all the commands s voice does

Fixed a phone 2 times for same person because it went black after a drop. 1st time dropped from 9ft off ground. Hit bottom left corner. Black screen understandable. 2nd time dropped from 3ft off ground. Hit bottom right corner. I'm curious why both times it has same issue. Other phones I've worked on have cracked digitizer from being dropped. Not a black lcd.

Jeez, I don't have an S3 but it's still a Samsung Galaxy and now I'm absolutely terrified of dropping it, don't know what to do to make it as safe as possible, especially when leaving the house >_

Sorry about your luck bro. Bit more than likely samsung won't do anything for you since technically you dropped the phone and broke it. I know it sucks. I knew this phone was delicate since it came out and that's why it never leaves its otterbox. Hope you are able to fix it for less cuz damn $250 is a lot

I have the s3 neo and I love it but it cost me £90 for a new lcd because the exact same thing happened, I dropped it about the height of the phone by picking up a box I was pissed cause my phone is brand new as well.

Why are Cell Phones Made to break. Dropped My Samsung Galaxy S4 3-4 feet and shattered my screen. and the screen no longer powers up. Unfortunately I had taken the otter-box protector off as well as the plastic screen protector as I was diagnosing why my screen goes crazy. Well looks Like I fixed the problem. Wish I bought the Motorola Droid Turbo 2.

I dropped my galaxy s3 many times it didn't stop working until the last time I dropped it on the fitting room floor then the left side of the screen started to turn purple then it spread then my phone screen went completely black. the buttons and everything work jus not the screen, because I swiped my screen and I can hear my phone unlocking so

It,s a fake S3,I also bought and I did not know. A friend of mine pointed out to me the difference between a fake and an original.The original can be dropped from a height of 3 m many times yet it is not broken

i broke mine yesterday ,it drop off the seat of a chair and landed on the concrete about the same hight as yours droped .seems to be very badly made ,it should be alot better than this .really pissed off.

Otterbox is trash. I dropped my phone with the box on it, maybe 24" drop to the floor and the screen won't come on it's black.

Hey man! Same happened to me, i droped my s3 in black color from 1 feet. the lcd screen broken like your not glass. it is under glass. i sent to samsung service and they sent me back with new replaced ldc i waited for 1 month in europe hungary. they will change it their fault because it has very bad poor quality. sry for my eng just good luck with u go fight vs samsung if they dont want to change it
