Thanks for your comparison I'm from Toronto as well and looking to replace my xone 53 which finally broke after 9 years (left side blew), they don't sell or make any xone 53 headphones anymore for anyone looking. I'll be switching to pioneer now sadly; nothing can replace my xone 53s

So what was your gripe with the A&H? At the start of the video you were about to say and didn't. I've owned the Xone's for 7 years and love them. I recently bought the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II's and found them not to be loud enough. Looks like I'll be picking up the XD2-53's. Best bang for buck. Thanks for the vid, it was helpful.

+DJ Markus it was the non replaceable pads. I asked a local dealer and they told me the 53's pads are not replaceable, the XD2-53 have replacement pads.

Agreed, the ear pads on mine are similar to yours. I picked up and returned the Pioneer HDJ 2000MK2's. Pioneers are good, but didn't convince me for the extra $$. So instead I bought what I was told to be the last pair of XD2-53's in Canada. These headphones will no longer be sold in North America per Canadian distributor Erikson Pro. Real bummer since the Xone's have outshined everything I've tried so far.

Im using them with gaming pads (from creative sound blaster alpha) that are even bigger than the normal ones and they are fine. couple times maybe one side comes out. but if this a problem you can glue them. and when they wear out you can heat them a bit or a bit scratch the glue and change them again. no need to glue the whole round. there are even stickers for foam in the headband in ebay.

Hi thx for the video You can replace the ear pads of the XD 53 it's the same as for the Sony MDR-V700 However I decided to go with EDT250 ear pads as they are more comfortable and I prefer velour

+Dan Xone I went to a local dealer and they said they're not replaceable I've been dealing with that place for years so I know they were not lying to me. Its also doesn't say in the A&H website.

I'm thinking of getting the old pioneer hdj 2000 again. Mines have got stolen and I went and got the new pioneer hdj 2000 mk2. The older ones sound better
