Most phones won't have the file titled "media", it all depends on what you've put on the phone, and how you've done it. It doesn't matter if the Notifications folder isn't in media, as long as it's created, and named correctly. Mine was in Bluetooth, as that's how I uploaded my song. Also, if you want your MP3 to be your ringtone, just change the file name to Ringtones instead of Notifications Great video man, really helpful.

Thanks so much...It took me a while to follow the steps b/c I purchased the songs from Verizon media store so they were sent via text message. Once you play them they are then downloaded into the phone's download file which is located under My Files (?) Then, I had to copy and paste into Notification folder. The copy and paste into Ringtone folder. Once I got the hang of the steps it was easy. Learned a lot today!!! Thanks for the video:) Very helpful!!

on my S3 (I747M) is under sdcard0/Notifications, the folder was there already. thanks for the tip! worked great :) cheers

Many thanks to you, Inam. For mine, the setup was different but followed the procedure as closely as possible. Went like this: Apps>All Files>Storage/sdcard0>Ringtones THEN hold down on the tone until the menu pops up....then......Copy>Notifications>Paste Here (upper right corner). Then Settings>Sound>Default Notifications>Choose whichever file you added. (that was adding a downloaded ringtone from VZ Tones because under my Default Notifications, it only showed the pre-loaded options.

Real novice here. I viewed how to create ringtones in Audacity. Followed the steps and then saved the file to my phone in a file named ringtones using the USB cable. So smooth it was great.

For those who don't have a 'Media' folder, then you should have a 'Notifications' folder, just copy the tracks into that folder. If you don't have either folder, then you can just create a 'Media' folder then in this folder, create a 'Notifications' folder and follow the same instructions. This is the way i tried it and it works. Also, if you want to set a Ringtone, then you should have a 'Ringtones' folder, if not then i'd assume you can just create it.

That works for ringtones, but for some reason when I tried it for Notification tones, the added ringtones didn't show up. This video fixed that problem for me.

you need to create a new media and notifications folder (on your sd card) . then copy the song and paste it into your new notifications folder. it worked for me :)
