Tim Schofield (Qbking77) Yup! You can pretty much do whatever you want with the link, except mask it, OR tell people to bookmark it. I use the links on my channel as well, I usually say 'check out the price on Amazon HERE:' or 'Here is the replacement screen on Amazon:' Then in my 'about' section of my channel page, I comply with US law about affiliate links saying that I do make a commission from the links. Both are great phones but I have had every samsung, LG and iPhone and something about the user experience with the htc 10 just blows away these other phones. It comes down to preference. The design, minimal software, DAC and OIS on the HTC 10 are major pros for me. The home capacitive home button is blazing fast and i like it so much better than actually clicking a button. Also Tim, you noted about the wireless charging on the s7, but the quick charge 3.0 with the HTC 10 is a MAJOR ADVANTAGE. my phone charges up in a matter of a hour. its deff a pro to be added about the htc 10. good job, great video as usual :)

The IP68 isn't that much of a big deal.. The S7 is pretty much completely glass, and considering your far mor likely to drop your phone and break it, rather then drop it in water, the HTC's all metal body proves better. Also the HTC 10 is water resistant not as much as the S7 but still there is water resistance, but also not to mention HTC offers uh-oh protection which replaces your phone in ANY worst car scenario, so if break it, or anything HTC will give you a free replacement, while through your carrier (IF YOU HAVE INSURANCE) you'll be paying around a 200$ deductible for a replacement. HTC has adoptable external storage up to 2tb allowing you to make your added storage internal storage so there aren't any restrictions on what you can use it for (Samsung does not have this). Also the HTC 10 can take RAW photos, which I don't believe the S7 can do, and there are alot of other little things like that.

Most people are going to use a case for their phones anyway, doesnt matter if its glass or metal. But when you take off the case, the s7 will look so much cooler and stylish

OK, now you do understand what water resistance means right ? He DID say the S7 has better water resistance but the HTC 10 is still water resistant. Next, regardless of how good a phones "grip" is, people still have accidents and drop phones, which the HTC 10 is much more durable with. There are also people like myself that do not use cases, personally i feel as though it makes the phone feel too bulky. I like the slim phone feel in my hand. No argument with screen. AMOLED is brighter and has better colors than LCD. But at the same time it is nowhere near 10 times better and they both are running the same resolution. Now on storage, it doesn't matter if its overkill or not, the storage is a win for HTC. I know people that need storage space like that. You could put a ton of full HD movies, music, pictures, vidoes and apps on a phone. 1 HD movie can easily take up to 2.5 GB all the way up to like 30 GB. Now the rear camera is another SLIGHT win for the S7 but the front facing camera, which by the way people seem to use quite often with the emergence of social media selfies, is better on the HTC 10. Don't forget that most people use their phones for music today, which either in speaker or headphones the HTC is quite a bit better. In the end they are both great phones. Each person has different needs, so one might be better than the other depending on those needs. But to say the S7 is better than the HTC 10 based on your needs and what you want out of a smartphone seems pretty ignorant. Better for you ? Maybe. Better for everyone else ? You just can not determine that based on your opinions. P.S- Almost forgot that the HTC 10 also charges much quicker than the S7

S7 has better back camera - HTC 10 has better front camera same battery capacity same display resolution HTC has faster foot print - S7 saves pictures faster One point where the S7 wins: brightness One point where the HTC 10 wins: USB 3.1 Type C You also could say S7 has water proof and HTC 10 doesn't. S7 is 7 grammes lighter and 1.1 mm thinner. HTC 10 has 0,05 Ghz more (processor) but these really are peanuts. All in all, I would somehow say a DRAW. Both are very good though. Check them out in the store. If I had to decide I would take HTC 10 but I prefer rather to wait for a HTC 10 mini or S7 mini

HTC 10's sound quality through its own earbuds is just phenomenal. 24 bit DAC separate amplifiers show their merits. Camera is also fantastic.

The fact that the 10 has the same chip set, memory, smoother skin & the greatest headphone sound on any phone, hTc wins. Camera is fine. Build is great. Screen looks great. For me, the DAC is highly important.

All it comes down to is preference in all reality. Do you prefer superior sound and charging capabilities with the HTC 10 or do you rather an above slightly better camera and display with the S7. I really want the HTC because I deem the sound and charging to be enough of an edge over the Samsung but I do find myself wishing the HTC had a lot if features that the S7 does.

One other thing about these two manufacturers is that I know three HTC power users still going strong with their old handsets (two M7s, and one HK Edition M8), whereas I know several Galaxy S users (including my sister) that have gone through at least one phone within the last three years of heavy use and had to replace it with a newer model... The durability of the product (along with the sound quality) is why I went with HTC in the first place...

I do love the additional functionalities of the S7, and i do love the fact that it ios a bit smaller. However i would definetly by the HTC 10 because Sense is way more beautifull than Touch Wizz and the phone looks so much more beautiful than the S7, with a nice aluminum finish where the S7 glass is so anoying and uncomfortable. So i would chose the HTC 10 even if the price is also higher. Thanks for the review !

Great video. I would suggest that for future comparisons, you should present the images taken by either phone on a neutral device (say your computer and edit it into the video). We already established that the S7's screen has more saturation and contrast than the HTC, so how can we really compare the cameras of either phone if the images are presented on different screens?

Burn in on the Amoleds drives me crazy. I was in a Verizon store yesterday and couldn't believe that the S7 and Note 7 they had on display already had burn in on their screens. I'm only looking at LCD displays these days.

From my experience, LCD Screens gets yellowish after a while, so keep that in mind. Also, Amoled screens have better viewing angles and better optimisation on battery usage.

I wouldn't say which is better than another, this is how wars break out lol!. They're better or worse for various reasons depending on the users expectations and their abilities *when it comes to the camera* Doesn't really matter of which one is better, it just matters which is better "to you" you know? :) I'd go for the HTC10 personally, more stock, stronger build quality, and awesome sound, I wouldn't need to use an amp to power my cans. The S7, great camera, great everything but fragile and I don't care much for the skins and it's locked down nature.

The s7 has gorilla glass 4, and unfortunately sand can scratch this type of glass easily. I would recommend a plastic protector, because I have not found any good glass ones yet.

The HTC 10 received the highest DXOMARK score (photo), as well as scoring the highest antutu benchmark of any phone, with the htc 10 scoring over 150,000 while the S7 and iPhone 6s scored in lower 130,000's. I know both the HTC 10 and S7 scored an 88 according to DXOMARK, but as DXOMARK explains they primarily focus on photography and the HTC 10 did better in particular areas placing it above the S7. A lot of phone phones on the market excel in some areas while failing in others, and I think the HTC 10 offers the closest thing to a full package. The HTC 10 has hi-res microphones so you get great sound as well as a Great picture in your videos, not to mention it picks up more sound for phone calls. The HTC has a very fast touch response (I mean HTC was the first to feature a touch response below 50ms, which was half of the response time of any other phone at the time with the m8). The HTC 10 has a solid build, plenty of storage, powerful performance, great all around audio with hi-res audio, microphones, and speakers, with powerful internal DAC and amp for amazing lossless audio, not to mention Dolby surround sound, and it's the first Android to feature apple airplay. I mean I think the HTC 10 has more to offer then the competition and pays close attention to the small things.. I mean if you look at the market everyone has followed HTC's foot steps, from all metal bodies, antenna bands, dual sensor cameras, live photos, front facing speakers and powerful lossless audio, 5MP front camera, opting for lower resolution for larger pixels, the list goes on.... I mean HTC did create the first modern smartphone, and the first Android smartphone.

last time I tried Samsung Galaxy themes again, the very first one I tried would not go away. I tried other themes, rebooting & I even deleted it but but it was holding on for dear life. I ended up with 3 different types of icons. My phone looked awful. I master reset it and vowed to never to use Galaxy themes again. sorry about the long wait. Notifications rarely work. I'm starting really hate android 6.01. Hopefully the next upgrade won't suck so bad.

Hey Tim, how does the s7 do with headphones? I realize that it largely depends on the headphones you are using, but if I could get some sort of idea from you that would be great! I am trying to decide between these two phones and audio is a big one for me. I know that the HTC 10 is the clear winner, but I guess what I want to know if the s7 would still be a solid choice for listening with headphones. Side by side, you'll be VERY disappointed in the headphone audio of the S7. It is terrible with a capital T. That's my biggest complaint with the S7, while it never clips or sounds messy, the sound is just not amplified enough. I fly a lot and most of my music is drowned by the white noise of the airplane cabin even with the volume cranked to what would normally be unsafe levels on other phones with more powerful amps. Its as if they clamped down on the volume to protect our hearing but in the process made it impossible to match volume output of competing phones. I'm considering going back to my LG G3 for podcasts and music, it's that frustrating. Others with the Exynos processor have had luck with Viper audio to correct this.

Robert Conrad I can tell you why are all Htc phones are different or better on earphones than others. I have m8 and sound on earphones is more open and realistic and you can hear sound more wider and also way louder and powerfull. I tried Iphone 6s, Lg g4, Samsung galaxy s5 and many other phones and none of them are not even close to Htc m8. Also Htc 10 is even better than m8 on headphones and you have alot of options.

is your htc 10 have the tianma display or the sharp display? you can check on it by installing devcheck on playstore. other htc 10 owners are complaining about the bad viewing angles and pinkish hue that's on their phone. I think that the tianma variant is the bad display compared to the sharp one

I just got the S7 a week ago after 3 prior HTC smartphones, which I loved. But had battery life issues on my HTC one and had to get another phone. I learned HTC wasn't a big seller anymore when only one was available via AT&T and no stores had it, so I decided to try to S7. I like the phone ok, but I'm having a problem when making a call and using my speakerphone that the party on the other end is saying I'm breaking up and it's dropping words. This happened with everyone I talked to so I searched online and found several other complaints about this on android central from back through March to current. Is this a known problem and is there a fix for it or a setting? I took it back to Best Buy and the Samsung people just refreshed the sw. Not sure it's any better. Seriously considering returning it and going to something else. Are the HTC's still a viable option and not going obsolete? Don't want to invest in something that won't be supported in the future. All my friends have iphones and keep urging me to switch but I learned on Android and am very comfortable with it. Would love your opinion, thanks

WHY does everyone think aluminum is "premium" damn. everyone always says that htc and iphones are always premium because its aluminium. Aluminum feels cheap and IS cheap. it scratches easily (unless oxidized) and should not make a phone jump up hundreds of dollars. LG v10 has steel rims which imo is much more premium.

It makes me smile when u say I wish the HTC 10 had split screen capabilities! If all phones had everything u wanted they would be the same phones push what a phone has! Not what it hasn't. If a oneplus 3 was waterproof and had stereo speakers and removable storage it would be the best phone on the planet !! But it hasn't.

Dude there is so much you didnt say about the S7. And did I hear you say "a little" faster when snaping pics? Did you even use Adapt sound on S7? You say the HTC has doble tap on screen but you dont metion that the s7 has etc (easy screen turn on). The amoled screen on the S7 saves you more power aswell compared to the htc, aslong as you have dark black like a #000000 hex value in your theme/background. And the camera itself, you didnt even mention the zoomspeed on the S7 and there is so much more man. "A slight edge to the s7?" like.. whata? I dont know what to think about this review other than to say to those who read this; trust me people, I have tested both and the S7/edge is a different animal. It totally owns the htc in so many ways

Really because I have owned close to every smart phone, and samsung phones are unreliable as fuck. Touchwiz ALWAYS bogs them down after 6-12 months. HTC 10 is the best smartphone on the market, with pretty much stock android.

Samsung themes, 1st time I used it was awful. pop up and full page ads flooded my phone. icons have no replacement icons and uses only system apps. The first them I applied would not let go of the icons. no matter how many different icons I tried or rebooting the phone. it only changed the wallpaper... my detailed email to Samsung did nothing for help. they emailed and said they needed more info but say what. it should have had all the info to start.
