I think you can get the "None" option for the display Auto-Lock time, 1. Go to "about" in "settings" 2. Press on the "build number" several times until the "Developer tools" section become available 3. Go back to the main "settings" menu and enter "developer tools" section 4. You should find "Never auto lock" or something like that (I don't have an android phone right now, but I think it's the way to do it or something similar)

You say auto kills battery, yet you set your display to never go off and the resolution to max. What's the sense in that? I do exactly opposite, auto brightness, 1080p and 1 min to screen timeout

resolution has a negligible impact on battery life, there is seriously no point in turning it down, also auto brightness means the phone is constantly pinging the ambient light sensor which consumes as much power as it saves and just annoys you by constantly jumping the screen brightness.

WQHD is not noticeable with the naked eye...that should be turned on only when using VR ...FHD + is more then enough ...I also do not agree with the turning off of the ambient light sensor...this video does not make sense.

A quick side note for Sprint users : At about 5:45 where he changes the quick setting buttons is a bit different and it took me a minute to figure it out. You swipe down once and then twice as if to get more quick settings button access and the 3 dots will appear in the upper right to change the settings.

Last android I owned was S3. From an S3 to S8 this changed a lot! And don't need to wait for apple to update customizing or waiting for a jailbreak.. Its already there for simple things. And apple is here doing a red 7 with a white face. 🙄 Great video.

Yeah, I agree about the case and screen protector. Without them, the phone is soo slippery. I opted for all-black wallpaper, makes it look slick. I set the phone with medium battery saver, and I've been impressed how far the phone will go without charging.

so you turn off autobrightness because of battery then put up maximum resolution... read that back and think about it

It actually makes sense, to a point. Auto Brightness will be running software and sensors all the time while the screen is active. Changing the brightness manually will negate the software etc running. That being said, running it at its highest brightness.... ehhh not saving that much battery I'd suspect.

Hi Brandon Butch I am in the UK and I have noticed that on your S8+ in the settings menu is the layout I prefer. On our S8+ is a different layout. I see you have the 3 dots in top right hand corner and I take it you can go into the layout settings there for how the layout looks. If so we in the UK on the european model don't have that option? Yeah the app actually really drains battery and phone span, it uses a lot of unneccesary hardware to make the app feel fresh and snappy, honestly I barely see any difference while using both but my battery sure does
