I always thought it was too controlled by Google even though Android is "open source" It should've stayed that way and Google is getting wayyyy too saturated and integrated into Android nowadays Hopefully more will come from this

As long as we don't download one of the third party app stores from the play store, and just stick with downloading from play, we shouldn't have to worry about any possible security problems? Seems confusing. I have all of my auto blocking stuff on anyway.

Yeah shouldn't impact you in that case but it will likely lead to more people who don't know much getting viruses on android. And possibly lower app prices on Google play.

@@jspring86 I don’t know Jeff , it occurs to me ( rightly or wrongly) that google and samsung may now have to bring in more costly security measures , so , it could also drive prices up ? Personally as someone that uses apple and android platforms, I actually liked the walled garden approach and the feeling the app stores were a bit secure , but as a looong time Android user , I remember in earlier years Google’s play store being a bit notorious for apps being riddled with nasty adds and malicious stuff that would insert itself on your phone, , but not so much in recent years. Hopefully we won’t go back to those days , time will tell though.

There's still unsecure apps in the play store. This is more of Google wanting more of a cut from Epic. It would be like you Walmart selling items in Target, then Walmart trying to open their standalone stores and Target saying nope. You can't do that

You can adjust the level of your dark mode. I'll take a look at the settings when my s24 ultra finishes charging. On my oneplus 9 pro for media usage lol.. Only using this till I fix my first s24 ultra which got ran over by a semi on the interstate.. Was 36 hours without sleep and my magnetic case (spigen tough armor mag fit) kept it on the roof for a good while but yeah it got ran over at least once that I saw when I went back after noticing it wasn't with me :(

Well, it sounds pretty good and bad.. but talking about sideloading apps, I think Google and Samsung should make more apps available in the Google Play Store and Galaxy Play Store for downloads. Samsung in particular should highly consider removing the region lock for most applications to enable Samsung device users to install directly from the app store to prevent its users from side loading apks from third-party sites to enhance their device security.

Like Epic was hurting at all from this, they license out the unreal engine for games and movies and make a plenty from that. Pricing from competition may change but the other stuff is mainly going to make it harder on average users to tell when an app came from a legit source. Who uses just google play anyhow? play protect turned off so one can download/install any apk. Why worrying about security most flagship phones have great security built in, People already download upgrades and mods from altered apks and the issues are minimal. At least in my experience. *Dont try this at home*
