When i saw this, i was hyped. I was considering this over a notebook for studying and carry to uni. I really don't like cheap notebooks as i'm used to my high end desktop at home. But the price is a little bit off... I normally use Galaxy S devices, so this would be perfect to go along, basically a Note phone split in two devices, but for me, each would have their own purposes.

Samsung is by far the leader in Android Tablets, they only company that is trying to innovate in this category and for that I am excited and hopeful. However, using tech developed over 2 years ago for this years tablet DOES NOT justify the high cost, they needed to use the 845 chipset, needed to make it 4GB of RAM at a minimum (8gb is standard on all laptops now so be truly innovative and boost this tablet to 8GB), and internal memory needs to be 128GB and up to 500GB (yes, I know about the SD Card slot, and that helps), and it needs a USB-C, Thunderbolt or Displayport as well. Not to mention they should have learned from Microsoft's Surface and Google's Pixel C keyboard designs as to how to make a truly flexible and award winning design. The overly expensive Samsung KB has one angle and no trackpad. This is NOT equivalent to a Microsoft Surface Pro for example, doesn't come close to that level of productivity and technical specs, and yet the Surface is more capable and a less expensive option, heck, any capable laptop is less expensive than this tablet offering. My phone for example costs LESS and does more than this tablet, has the 845 chipset, has 128GB of storage, which is a real shame as Samsung OBVIOUSLY has the tech acume to produce a Tablet that will blow away anything we have ever seen. Additionally, the Apple 10.5‑inch iPad Pro ‑ Wi‑Fi ‑ 64GB blows this tablet out of the water, and it can be had for $500-$600 and I am not an Apple fanboy by any means, but you have to give Apple credit for innovating in this space and you know your getting a high quality product. Samsung has always been the Apple killer but with this offering they seem to be conceding to Apple. This offering is a mid range tablet and should be around $300 - $400 w/kbd and not the outrageous overpriced $900 w/kbd.

You can go into settings and make the Iris scanner work the second you turn your phone on. You don't have to swipe up.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna love this tablet. Movies are so easy to play bcuz it can play most video formats. Like a big Android phone. 835 Snapdragon the only downside is the RAM. Samsung should've put 6GB of RAM not 4GB. 🤪

Don't get me wrong, the 835 isn't a bad chip by any means. But it's 2018, you would think Samsung would use the same chip their most current flagship mobile devices run on. Also to keep up with the iPad Pro. Manufacturing costs probably played a roll in that decision too.

Although I prefer the more balanced feeling 4:3 aspect ratio on a device this large, I'm excited to use the LTE version as my main device.. never the less i'm disappointed there are so many features left out of this device. Last years processor... fingerprint scanner... only 4GB of RAM when devices with 6GB & 8GB are becoming standard, for the price.. the storage should be a Standard 128GB +MicroSD / Upgraded 500GB +MicroSD. Overall Samsung's new "flagship" tablet doesn't deserve it's top spot in the lineup when even their older, smaller devices dwarf it's specs and features.

It's a tablet it doesn't need all the super fancy features only the phones look at that because most people use their phone more than they would use a tablet that's why maybe an Android P Samsung will include gestures on me Samsung tablet so I might buy it then in the future if that's the last tablet they have but I'm just waiting for the price to go down for the tablet maybe in a couple months I'll buy it if the price is low enough like $300 is a sweet spot for me and I love Bixby so it's perfect it definitely will be a better upgrade than my Tab 4 that was released in 2014 that I got in 2014 and it's just really bugging out cuz it's old and it's not updated as it should be so we'll have to wait and see I guess what happens with this tablet hopefully they do a tab S5 and do a full device with all screen in the future

I like it, just too bad the RAM only 4gb, not a big fan for the keyboard as well, and why cant they do kick stand like Surface. Or make a more simple and better design with the kick stand, I dont like one position standing. (but at least the keyboard is not that poorly design like Apple's keyboard) and I would prefer a simple pen that I can attach it to the tablet. since I'm not gonna use it for design or anything fancy with the pen, only simple writing.

Tab A 10.5 = up to 400GB, Tab S4 = up to 512 GB MicroSD (won't matter, even the Tab A 10.5 should be able to handle a 512GB microSD. And such a SD would be crazy expansive)

I returned mine after finding that it had a jelly like effect wonky screen when scrolling in portrait mode. This was regardless of what app you were using. Absolutely fine in landscape mode but all the text goes wonky in portrait when scrolling until you let go of your finger and it straightens itself. Not what I would expect from the ‘premium’ android tablet. KZbin search s4 tab jelly and you’ll see it. Shame really as it was very good but It annoyed me that it’s clearly a common problem which Samsung doesn’t want to acknowledge.

Lukas Egeling because Face ID uses infrared sensors and Samsung uses it with the from camera. I do not like any of these tho. Fingerprint sensor was much better

Ok, I'll bite. I see that this new tablet has options of having 64 gigs or 256 gigs internal Ram, and a newer snapdragon chip than the Galaxy Note Pro, but give me a real reason why I should get rid of my 12.2" screen to downsize to a 10.5" screen. My tablet is quite fast, but are the differences sufficient that I should really think of trading in my somewhat older, but still shiny Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 for the brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab S4. I'm very intrigued by the greatly increased internal memory, but by judicious use of the cloud and my SDcard, I've been able to keep my tablet acting as a real screamer. At this point, I'm still thinking that I want to hold out for Samsung to come up with a real replacement for my tablet.. Multitasking and Multiwindowing on my tablet is rock solid, and doesn't clutter up my screen, while it almost looks like the new tablet could almost pass itself off as a PC. I know that I've been rambling a little bit, but if you could help me a bit here, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks so much.

For 329 you get 32 GB Storage, which is half the storage and not expandable. Also no pen. Thats $100 more. Also does not have a desktop like interface. I'd Buy at $550...waiting for a sale. Price compare this with an iPad Pro not the 329 iPad.

I know it may not effect experience much, but not having a Snapdragon 845 in here nor more than 4gb RAM, no response to the 120hz screen on the iPad Pro plus a glass back make this a 'see what the next iPad can do' product for me. You almost had me Samsung...especially with that gorgeous sAMOLED screen...but it seems like if you want the best, its still an iPad in the tablet market...
