Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Review: Is it Worth Buying? 🤔 (One Month Later)

For people wondering, the Tab S8's speakers are akin to having a portable Bluetooth speaker. Surprisingly it's just as clear-sounding, if not clearer, than my Echo Dot Gen 3... Though I haven't used it as a speaker in its own right, the sound quality is amazing when watching videos or just listening to Spotify whilst I study using Samsung Notes.

I got the s7 last year and it's still a powerhouse device. Plus the s8 and s7 look identical if anyone has a budget do look into the s7 too cos it's still awesome (although it will be few years of os and security updates since its an older model). Btw ppl please please look into the second screen + samsung flow (smartview is in samsung flow) features that come with the tabs. They are such a useful tool for file sharing and using the tab as an external screen.

The cable that comes with the Tab S8 only supports till "Super Fast Charging" like in the video at 05:32. However the cable that comes along with 45W travel adapter supports "Super Fast Charging 2.0" The difference in charging times is marginally better with 2.0 so but wanted to let you know 🙂

This was bought to replace an old Lenovo tablet which was essentially too sluggish to cope with modern websites. kzbin.infoUgkxz4qYZoyAOb_hq_UbaKI6AsZX0FnoFm-U This tablet is fast, has a very clear display with built in optional eye comfort shield, great sound with Dolby Atmos, split screen option and numerous tweaks that I've not yet explored. I've plugged a wireless receiver into the i/o socket to connect a mouse if I need it and a bluetooth keyboard works fine - unlike the Lenevo which somehow would often garble the input. Battery life seems good. In short I'm very pleased with it

I seen a lot of other review but they don’t show what the usage performance, this is very helpful 😊 I was considering selling my iPad 8 for this tablet, since I can’t stand the apple pencil nib that were too dull and hard for me personally, I have experience with drawing tablet pen and their nib were softer which what I like better I need to say goodbye to procreate though, but I think iBisPaint is also good for me

@@mayuuu may I ask if VLLO running smooth in this tablet? I don’t edit 4k video, mostly 1080p. VLLO on iPadOS is really smooth, even though I slice a lot of video and add a lot of stickers, filter and other elements although it only have 3gb ram. But it gets lag on my android phone, which has 3gb ram and meh processor tho

VLLO is fine here 👌🏻 yeah, I think android devices tend to have higher ram requirements for stuff like this. My phone has 6gb and it also works smoothly there. It's amazing how ipads can handle so much with 3 or 4gb of ram! 😱💕

I have the s7 tab that i bought in october 2021 ,im so satisfied i use for art, youtube, school its so convenient i sometimes regret of not taking the taller version s7 plus but i didnt have enough for that back then its okay tho , if your gonna use it for art , note taking i recommend the stylus wacom one pen its compatible and better than s pen i use it myself as well !🤩

The ipad 9 is also a solid option! I was sooo torn for a long time between this tab s8, s7 fe, ipad 9, or ipad air 4. Then the ipad air 5 came out which made things even more confusing! Hahahaha! s8 and s8+ use different screen technique s8 is OLED (I was wrong, it's LCD!!) s8+ is Super AMOLED (same as s8 ultra)

@@grapejelly7 yup. Actually the s8 base model has an LCD and the s8+ and Ultra have AMOLED like I mentioned in the video. I guess it depends on preference as well. However, I think the LCD on the tab s8 still looks gorgeous and crisp plus its refresh rate is adaptive compared to the non-adaptive ones in the plus and ultra so battery life is much better~

I google ltps tft, and the first result is OLED, but I didn't notice that LCD is also a product made by ltps tft. yeah you are right, actually I had not notice the refresh rate of s8 is adaptive until watching this video! that is a good way to extend battery life, cant understand why they dont apply it on s8+ and s8 ultra mine is s8+, i do feel the battery is draining a lil bit faster than i expected, for about 10% an hour? (120 hz, only use samsung note) if for gaming maybe drains faster i guess? but not quite sure, often ignore time when i play game lol

But amoled is also very nice so I guess they don't wanna give both lol 😂 10% every hour is pretty good battery life also considering the 120Hz! And yes, they do drain a lot faster when gaming. I guess that should be expected given the insane graphics of current games hahaha

Hey there, Jessica! I usually open my google drive in Samsung internet. Actually, I almost never use google chrome anymore in this tab hahaha! In chrome, when you open a doc, it would usually redirect to the docs app. But in Samsung internet, I usually just turn on the desktop mode and everything works well 🥰 There would be occasional notices pushingyou to use google chrome but I usually just dismiss and have had no problems hahaha 🤣 hope this helps! At first, I checked out the Ipad Mini but I noticed there was not so much difference in the screensize with the Fold. The tab S8 is just right. Not too small, not too big either. So far, it's great! I'm not a pro artist tho... just practicing and having fun. Clip studio, ibis paint, and infinite painter are some of the best options for android 💖 if you are using android and pc then it'll fit your ecosystem better. If you absolutely need procreate tho, then you'll have to go with the ipad pro. But personally, for me, this tab is enough. Hope this helps 🥰

I personally like to use 🍎 for their procreate purpose, but their LED hurts my eyes so much, straining that bad. As a glasses user, that won't do. I have had several 1st gen tabs from samsung, not much of a usage back then. But your review really makes me looking back at them. I wish to doodle (digital) here and there

Personally I used to really hate android stuff, because they just DID NOT stack up to Apple. But then when I bought an actual flagship phone from Samsung I was HOOKED. They have gotten so much better over the years, depending on the exact model. My husband had a Samsung tab A, and it was just not great... but the tab s7 range is better, and the s8 plus or ultras are even better. They are the current top of the line tablets with the new oled display, LED does not compare to oled. I have never used Procreate since I don't have a Pro iPad, but ibis paint X is AMAZING for digital art. I've accomplished so many amazing things with ibis. The only problem is that you would need to pay $2 a month to get rid of ads (it makes you watch one add per 24hrs to unlock all brushes)

So frustrating that they don't 😔 I get that they need to keep people in their apple ecosystem though 🤷🏼‍♀️ But yeah ibis paint X is amazing, but it would be hard to get all your works put into ibis. Does procreate record all of your strokes? ibis makes a video of you making the drawing. If procreate does this too, then it would likely be impossible to get the actual video version of your drawing switched over, and of course it probably wouldn't save all your seperate layers either sadly

Hello there! I am not sure about the pen sensitivity. I think you can adjust them depending on the app settings of the application you are using but I am not so sure. 😅 PS. Soooo sorry for the late response 😭

I use VLLO! It has been awesome for simple edits like this 💖 yes it does have a case. I think you'll find quite a variety of silicone cases for it. It does feel quite thin now without the case haha 😅

Thanks for dropping by! 🥰 mine is just tempered glass since I don't want to wear off my S-pen nib too fast with paperlike ones. But it does attract fingerprints more and I have to wipe it very often. If you want to avoid fingerprints I think a matte screen protector or paperlike ones would be the best fit for you 💕

In light to normal use, such as media consumption, not much, I suppose. The difference is more on the heavier side of things like gaming, video editing, etc. So depends on what you really want your tab for. Hope this helps 🥰

Hi there! Thanks for being here 💕 to answer your questions: - Nope, it still charges perfectly even with the sleeve on. - I would say no. However, if you have a thick tablet case paired with the S-pen sleeve, it can be difficult to attach the pen on the sides of the tablet. In this case, just attach it at the back of the tab (where it charges) as it will be uncovered by cases so the magnet will still be strong. - Got them online. Although I haven't changed the nibs yet (I just got them as back up) they're the Staedtler Noris Digital replacement nibs. They should fit and work just like the original ones! - My case is from Shopee (online shopping app) and it's called the Dux Ducis Toby series case 💖 Hope this helps! 🤗 Good luck on the upcoming school year~

Yes included. Samsung provide tab plus s pen already. No need to buy other pen. Battery life quite good around 1 day due to snapdragon 8 gen 1 chipset

It depends on what other activities you want to do with your tab aside from note taking. For note taking, light gaming, and media consumption, I think the S7 FE is a great choice still. Just get the Wi-Fi version with 128gb of storage and 6gb of ram. The Wi-Fi version has better processor than the 5G one so I suggest getting that. But if you want to do heavier tasks on top of note taking, maybe heavy gaming, video editing, and plan on using tons of multitasking, I highly recommend to go for the S8 since it has waaay better processor. Also, consider how long you wanna keep your tab. If you plan on keeping it for long, maybe 5 years or even a bit longer, go for the S8. It has longer software support and better processor for future proofing. But if you plan on upgrading again maybe in a year or two, the S7 FE is great. Hope this helps! Hello! I personally have them stored online but you can also keep them on the tab. It has a file manager app where you can access them. Or you can open them directly via Samsung notes (pdf) or Microsoft / GSuite apps 💖
