I ended up buying an armorBOX and love it. Originally I bought a cheap clear case from Amazon because they didn't have much at the time, I just thought something cheap to start with and get something else later when there was more choice. I love the case and love the bulkiness. I have larger than average hands so it is great to have a phone that fits into my hand comfortably.

That hinge staying open, is only a problem for you i think. Mine closes automatically when i close the phone

What's the point of a hinge protector that stays open. There are plenty of cases from other brands with hinge protectors that close automatically, my advice is get one of them.
