Six things to take razr over the flip 1- battery charging and longetivety 2- easier to open with one hand unlike flip where it's sharp edges 3- Sound where razr is louder more crisper 4- Seven years update is a too long for any phone to last 5- The flip its just too narrow unlike razr where you feel more engaged and immersed in both screens in and out 6- Price, razr is cheaper and lastly more fun to use Thx steve for this great video

@@unfortunate3256 T-Mobile had a promotion where they were giving the standard Razr 2023 away for free to new customers. I called a few weeks ago and told them I was interested, but I wanted to wait until my monthly term with Boost ended to swap carriers so I could keep my number. My order was placed and they were waiting on the green light from me until it got closer to the end of my service term with Boost. When that day came, they told me that promotion was no longer valid as they were out of their back stock of Razr 2023's. I thanked her for her time, and said I'd just stick with Boost. About 5 mins later she called me back offering me the standard Razr 2024 for free, which is actually an upgrade from the 2023 Razr+. Just keep your eye out on new customer promotions. That's how you get a flagship smartphone at little to no cost to you.

Few thing that must've been taken by consideration: The galaxy z flip 6 have ip48 rating. Razr + is ipx8. - Last year's razr still stucked at android 13. Based on that, what can we say about razr+ future updates? -The z flip 6 have a better thermal solution with a glass back and a vapor chamber while the razr with its plastic back might have some overheating problems, especially when charged with 45w.

Last year, the Z Flip5 was the better flip phone due to its durability. This year, I got to go with the Razr+. I am glad that Motorola improved the hinge and water resistance. The cover display is a major selling point to this phone as the Z Flip's looks dated. In terms of performance, I did care about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 until I found out that it has been underclocked. The 8s Gen 3 will be fine, it's only the GPU that is a little weaker. My only complaint is that Motorola is still using USB 2.0. USB 3 is mandatory for $1,000 phones and the lack of it is a missed opportunity for wired Smart Connect. Other than that, the Razr+ is a serious competitor to the Z Flip.

I don't think that delicate hinge and display will last 7 years. Foldables are notoriously hard to fix and considering Samsungs depreciation it won't be worth it. Most of these will end up in the bin after 2 or 3 years.

The main reason that I went with the Motorola razr is you don't have to screw around with downloading that extra Good luck app just to get stuff to run on the front screen and also because Motorola does not copy apps on a phone like Samsung does there's Google photos and Samsung photos and Google's this and Samsung's that and all that does is take up some of the storage space on your phone and it's just ridiculous

The razr+ seems like the better pick overall at first. But I'm hearing nothing but problems after a short amount of time. Reddit is full of complaints about screen crease cracking, overheating issues, and hardware failing. Like Bluetooth turning off when the phone is folded, and similar issues. I went to the T-Mobile store to test the moto razr+ and the 2 display units both had hardware issues. Certain apps and gestures wouldn't work, they just displayed an error message.

Thanks for the heads up, this prompted me to do a search for "screen crack razr+ 2024" and the first hit was a complaint about Motorola's warranty regarding last year's series- any and all damage to the inner screen, even by manufacturer defect with regular use, is not covered under their own warranty. Plus it took 6 different agent calls to finally get that information. That's totally unacceptable.
@savagej4y2413 ай бұрын
@@Dantastic123 But further into the same thread, apparently a repair for screen crack with normal use is only covered once under Samsung warranty. It does not apply if it happens again and the repair was $400 for the Z Flip 3 at least. I suspect that hasn't changed three models later. Seems like foldable smartphones just aren't there yet, no manufacturer has a good warranty on these things.

Motorola needs to stop with the shiny frame. The sides should be a matte finish like the base model Razr. The shiny metal makes it look cheap and "plasticy". I think they would sell more phones with that one change. I also think the side rails of the frame should be as rounded on the Razr, is should be a nice balance between squared and rounded.
@zlatko.4 ай бұрын
You are wrong when stating that "functional bits" are on par between those two.Functional experience on cover screen is abysmal with ZFlip6(and I assume 6) - Goodlock is ONLY available in several markets, most don't have it. App launching is a PITA with Samsung, switching between app is non existent, notification handling and interaction is plain frustrating. So if you pay for a cover screen and plan to use it( as you should in a flippable device) - Samsung should not even be considered.

As you said, beyond the cosmetic side of the external screen and the slight advantage in scrolling, personally, I don't find anything better about this Motorola compared to the Flip 6, I even think that, actually (because of its price and processor) the Flip 5 is better than the Razr 50 Ultra and even currently a better deal than the 2 above 🤷🏽♂️ I also find the outer screen with rounded edges of the Motorola insecure, I don't trust Motorola in terms of software tracking (only the sky knows when it will have Android 15, so Android 16 even let's not talk about it). If you want a Flip, buy the Flip 5 and put it in light mode for more battery 🔋 life, it really has nothing to envy to the other two, and you will make substantial savings. 🙏🏽
