Seems like the poor sales of the Z Fold5 is finally getting to them. This is good and hopefully these reports end up being true. The competition has gotten tough. While the Z Fold still has the best software, the hardware needs to be improved.

Samsung would have to put EVERYTHING into the Fold 6 to even have a chance. The xiaomi mix fold 4, 6.5 outer display, 8.02 inner display, 9mm thin when folded, 3- 50 pixels cameras, 5 times optical zoom, 100 watt charging, 60 watt fast charging, lower price then the normal Fold 6 and much more. To top it off... It goes global this year. Don't get me wrong, I love my Fold 4 and looking forward to the Fold 6 Ultra (hopefully) but got to call a spade, a spade. Xiaomi mix fold 4 leaves the Fold 6 in the dust, even if it comes in an Ultra.

Going from 20:9 on my 20 to 19.3:9 on my s23 ultra was a very noticeable improvement especially in videos with much smaller black bars. This is a great change

@rabdulwahid so much hate, I'm keeping my fold 2 because it has given me no problems whatsoever. Everything works fine the phone doesn't lag or get hot. I usually keep phones for 3 yrs before buying a new one but because the fold 2 has been so good to me I decided to keep it until there is a big change, I don't think the fold 5 us a big change so I didn't buy it but if there is a new design and bigger display I will definitely buy the 6. If the design is the same and same size then I will keep it for another yr. Apple has had the same design for 4 yrs too.

Guys the aspect ratio is everything. It can make the front screen actually ussable. It can still be technically 6.2 inches but if it's a difrent aspect ratio than it will completely change the feel. It will be less candy like.

It will be all down to the price. Yes, it seems that Samsung has finally decided to make the device an easy to spot evolution compared to its predecessor(s) but this handset price is just hefty. Taking into account some of its weak sides (e.g. still no built-in S-Pen, inner screen durability, inner/outer screen ration which is to me simply odd) paying nearly 2000 bucks for this device (which is really a top spec laptop range as far as its price is concerned) I would rather not go for it unless I had some money to burn. For a time being I'll stick to the Galaxy Ultra series...

Looks like the old one. They haven't been able to do anything big since the fold design first came out other than minor tweaks here and there. Maybe the first couple versions had issues that were fixed but now it's just incremental improvements. And these foldables still aren't all that mainstream, more of a niche market.

I'll believe it when I see it. We always thought "oh they are gonna make the outer screen wider" (the statements since the fold 2) yet they just always shortened aspect ratio meaning we got less usable screen. I doubt this news would make this any noticeably any wider. They still be far out to the form factors of the Chinese phones that have a better form factor. Samsung could copy them right now but samsung is the apple of the Android world, they'd milk us because they know we'd still buy their stuff regardless what they do. And I do hope, really hope I'm wrong. I've been waiting for the change since the z fold 2 and it's been many generations now.

I got a fold 3 at launch and its still my phone. The battery has aged very poorly and the center screen has a line down the middle but seeing as i want to keep a Samsung fold i dont see a reason to upgrade. Samsung has barely done anything to the fold series in the last 3 years.

It will be the same boring loop as the S series capabilities are there, but if companies other than Google and Samsung aren’t forced to optimize those apps properly, it’s a waste of time.
