-YES!!!! Samsung Pay on this is amazing. I originally thought it was the same thing as Android/Apple pay but with Samsung Pay you dont need to look for the specific emblem on the pay devices. It uses an audible tone that interacts with the magnetic strip. Only reason you can't use it at the actual gas pump is they require a physical card to be inserted. - I work in the engineering/surveying field and have used it as a phone and no one has ever complained about the audio quality and the speakerphone on it is quite impressive (relatively speaking). It's also really nice to throw this on a "hiking" workout and have the path you took on google maps show up on your phone which can be exported. - Im also an avid runner and with the 3.0 Tizen update they allow continuous HR monitoring and the precision has definitely been improved (yet not perfect). - I use this with GPS on, continuous HR monitoring, a 45 minute run session, an hour+ "hiking workout" for work and by the time I get home its at about 40%. Keep in mind, I charge this when I get home. So I wear it from about 6pm, sleep around 10pm with Sleep As Android (all functions enabled), wake at 5am, gym by 6:15am, then normal workday from 7:30am-3:30pm.

I now have decided to get this. I was driving the pros/cons for a watch, and the deciding factor is the fact that by having it, you have a much lesser chance of breaking or losing your phone, which means it can pay for itself. I may wait until the Gear S 4 comes out and get this one when they start giving them away for free with the purchase of a Note 8 (being that I'm planning on buying a Note 8). Excellent video. I watched this close. Watch face is Oxygen II by Bergen. it has some customization for the color accents and is $1.49 in the Samsung store to get it. I enjoyed the video but I got more out of getting a watch face I'm excited to try. First one I paid $$ for, otherwise been using the Verizon LTE model since June 2017 with free ones. nice update so far, close all the apps and reboot the watch to clear out any battery issues. hope the new face with AOD doesn't drain too fast. usually have 40-45% left at the end of the day with other faces. I just got the 3.0.0.1 on the way to work this week. Didn't know it was even coming.

CHASEnA's generally ok. I do have maybe once a week that I'll hit 20% or lower before I even leave work for the day. I think it's related to running apps in the background that keep the batt busy.

I missed the initial 3.0.0.1 update, thankfully, and they pulled it from their update options, but they just pushed out a new one to me today. Took a chance and downloaded it. We'll see how it goes. One thing I noticed is I'm not able to create an event on the calendar like you showed. Swiping down does nothing. Thanks for the video.

Unfortunately, I own the LTE version of the gear s3 frontier from verizonwireless and we haven't received an update on Tizen as of yet. I remain on Tizen 2.3.2.3 version and I'm so anxious for Tizen 3.0 and now there's another update. Hurry up Samsung and Verizon with the gear s3 frontier update!!! Great video!

I just bought the s3 frontier and it has the same software after updating it. The only thing missing is the water ejection, water resistance and the battery. The rest is all the same after update. I got it on sale for $290 Australian dollars compared to over $500 for the galaxy

Only issue I have with the watch is S-Voice. I've had so many errors when talking to the watch it's ridiculous. If you could use Google now instead it would be killer.

BigMosely A good work around is to install an app launcher on your S3 Frontier that'll launch apps on your phone. Works even better if you have a headset because you can launch Google Voice Searchit from The Watch and communicate through the headset. Works great!!

Jay Jung Not sure which Android Wear you're talking about but I've had most. And yes a lot of them are that way with the laginess and response. But the Huawei Watch 2 that I have has no lag at all. And it doesn't matter if I'm on wifi or Bluetooth. I use it a lot just for home commands. It's quicker than yelling across the room hey Google to the Home.

With this new update comes 2 bugs - shorter life of the battery and if you turn on "power saving" ( first icon on the left from the swipe meny ) - you can't return to normal watch mode. The only way to do it is to reset and go back to factory settings. Samsung push a new small update few days ago and this update is about battery drain problems with new Tizen OS. First impression after latest update patch - as we can call it - is that now battery get better management form the OS and it should lasts longer....

Thanks for this video. My biggest gripe (aside from lack of apps...seriously, where's google voice..where's bixby?), is that my watch constantly turns on while I'm sleeping or restless. I had to turn off the 'gesture on' because the watch would either constantly turn itself on when I didn't want it to or it wouldn't turn on when I watned it to. However, at night, my watch face, even with gestures off, is still turning on all the time (guessing I'm rubbing the bezel when moving around at night). There needs to be a 'night mode' where you must press a button to turn the face on during that time. I have a baby (11 month old) in my room...and the watch face is bright at night (pitch black room) and can disturb both my me, my Wife and our baby at random times when sleeping. It's very annoying!

Still no update for the Verizon LTE version of this exact same watch. Very frustrating after I traded up from the Bluetooth to the LTE version, to learn it runs the older version of Tizen 2. Samsung online support says Verizon has the Tizen 3 update but has not yet approved or pushed it out. BTW thanks for Great Video! much appreciated..

Nice review. My main concern is can you stop all and I mean All fitness notifications, that tell you to move, exerecise more etc. I have a wife that tells me, I don't need my watch to kkeep reminding me. I have a vivoactive and I keep thinking I have a phone call or a text but it's telling me to move. So annoying and I can't turn it of. It's now on sale. Thank You . JD

If you open Amazon music on your phone and start some music, the player controls on the watch will work with it. But I don't know a way to start it first. A native Amazon music app for the watch would be nice.

That update brought with it problems with charging to 100%, battery overheating, and performance issues. I had to roll my firmware back to get everything woking normally. Be very wary of 3.0.0.1

Until they get Google assistant and play store on their watches (for Google maps etc) I can't bring myself to get a Samsung watch. Tizen UI and hardware are great, but app and assistant integration kill the watches for me 😢
