Samsung One UI vs Stock Android: Is one better than the other?

I love stock android's feel but i'm totally dependant of one ui's options

Stock android is the IOS of the android world. Its basic and works well for most people. Most iphone users dont need that much customization and options and its the same with stock android users. They just wanna know that it works well. The consistent software update is also a piece of mind for them. This is all my assumption tho. I use a Samsung phone.

@Skunky Stinkerson I used to be an iPhone user because of the simplicity of the IOS, but it's interface was boring and honestly, not very productive for me. Samsung's interface has been a very welcome change. The customization is exactly what I needed. I find my apps much easier and it is so much easier to navigate through my phone. One UI can be made to look like stock android but stock android can never be one UI. It's about choices and together with a stylus, good lock and galaxy labs one ui is the most advanced android skin.

The main reason I want a One UI custom ROM is because of goodlock! It's just such a useful bag of tweaks. Other then that, Samsung's camera which works better with the original app, and Samsung's notes app, I'd be totally fine with stock android. [EDIT] I have a Samsung that came with One UI now and honestly, I like the look but it's really bloated. Going to switch to havoc OS or something similar soon. And without GApps.

being able to make folders in the app drawer is a feature much needed on stock android. one aspect that is under appreciated about this is when you want to experiment with different launchers. I like having folders on my home screen. When I switch to a different launcher, I will have to recreate those folders again. with samsung I can just drag those folders right back down

Ironically One UI also has a built in screen recorder, so u really didn't need to download an app to capture the screen 😅 I was die-hard nexus and stock android, until OneUI came along. Its the superior user experience

Stock Android users usually don't buy a phone because of features. If I want features I would probably go for MIUI, Realme UI, One UI or whatever. For some reason I just want (always came back to it) and like the boring, smooth and clean stock experience. Also it runs great on budget devices already.

I would think it was a matter of preference... I have owned mostly UI-Based Android phones (HTC, Samsung), so I am used to there being a "Skin" over the OS... I however, know a succession of old Nexus, then Pixel unit owners whom are most insistent upon a Pure Android ecosystem... Just like those whom are more into iOS... One UI looks "shiny" and "glittery" whereas Stock Android is paper-like and natural to use. Google's Material Design-in a true design perspective-is an example of good design. Good design works; don't change it.

One hand control is actually a huge deal, this and the built in clipboard manger keeps me from getting a pixel. In the day to day this saves a ton of time. Otherwise I deactivated all the bloat/spyware like bixby/assistant.

Want to change to a pixel phones, cos i owned Samsung's phone for quite a long time, yes, it got many useful features, but overtime, i didn't use it that much on the cost of stuttering here and there within the software. So, I'll prefer smoothness, simple and fast software experience that pixel is well known for plus its camera performance over Samsung's. Experience is more important than features.

I had enough of all factory customized android! from now & on looking for stock Android (AndroidOne). & the straw that breaks the camel's back is the EMUI suppressing apps notification that I doesn't used regularly! for example, you don't recieve notifications from loved one or customer services from those apps you don't use regularly!! Stock Android means first & regular updates, the most practical, stable version you can get. fast & sleek looking!

One ui starts lagging after every update. I was a samsung user for a long time, the major draw back of this ui is that you have to maintain a separate Samsung account. Its really difficult and annoying.

Using Odin and TWRP and following instructions on how to install custom rom on S9+. I installed Evolution X Rom is based on Android 10 and it brilliant. Simple, clean and fast and looks 10x better then OneUI IMHO.

Thanks for this. I switched from iPhone after 10 years, to my first Android since way back then. I got a galaxy s20+. I kept hearing about bloatware and stock Android and all this stuff, I had no idea what any of this is. I got this phone on June and its now December. First of all, I couldn't ve any happier. Once I got used to it, it has become a way better phone for me than iphones were. As for the different Android OS'S, and tips and tricks, I'm still trying to figure it all out. But this video has explained it well to me. See in the iPhone world, theres only 1 OS. So I assumed that all androids were the same too. But apparently not. Still got a lot to learn but I'm loving every step of the way!!!
