Notice that Steam Deck MicroSD slot is only UHS-I so max transfer is only 104mb/s. Sadly Valve cheaped out on this one.

You do get ~150 and 115MB/s read/write speeds through USB with the Pro Plus if you use it with Samsung's USB 3 adapter. I don't know if they sell it on its own, but it's bundled with the Pro Plus 128GB and above. Thanks for the video btw, nice to see the difference (or lack thereof) between the two.

@@dreddie8770 If you're talking about a micro-SD to SD adapter, then I wouldn't know because I only have the USB adapter (the card come with either an SD adapter or a USB adapter but not both, and I bought the latter). What I know is that you wouldn't get these speeds with any USB 3 adapter - the one bundled with the card is doing something to exceed UHS-I speed limit. I think I read somewhere that it's the same for card readers (some allow higher speeds with USH-I cards while most don't). I don't know if using Samsung's SD adapter allows for these speeds on any card reader, like their USB 3 does on any USB 3 port.

It's crazy that this little thing can store so much. I was able to save all my computer data I've gathered over the last 2 decades(pics, vids, docs) and put it inside the this EVO 512gb $45 microSD card.

I'd suggest you to make a backup on an hdd just in case cause flash memory is not ideal for storing files without usage.

I will tell you exactly lexar and sandisk is slow in writing for transfering video and picture so slow compare to samsung sd card more faster and less to be corrupted.

I am guessing the bottleneck here is your SD card readers. I have seen other reviews able to obtain near the maximum rated speed of the Samsung Pro Plus cards.

You would get much better results with samsungs usb micro sd reader instead of an adapter. My 512 gig pro plus came with the usb reader instead of an adapter. The speed is also noticeably better than evo on the nintendo switch. I was able to backup my v1 sysnand via hekate in about 12ish minutes with the pro plus where as the evo takes over 20. Though to be fair my evo is pretty old and worn out lol.

You need UHS-III adapter to reach declared 160/120ms/s. I got official one from samsung and in benchmarks it hovers around 150m/s on sequential read and 110mb/s sequential write. Notice that even on cards itself is inprinted U logo with "3" inside that means UHS-III standard.

i have an old samsung 256gb evo plus card(red and white color), been using it on my sony as300->gopro 7>gopro 8 and now gopro 11, just did a test with crystaldiskmark, same read speeds and around 87MB/s write speed, i wonder if the 256gb version of those newer cards will have faster write speeds.

Surely with a measured write speed of 95 MB/s the Pro Plus cards could meet the spec for V60? (Minimum write speed 60MB/s). Why are they labelled V30? Really it's time to reform the labelling of memory cards, it is hopeless that we have to rely on consumers to measure them and can not rely on their labels.

When testing my Samsung Evo Plus 512GB with CrystalDiskMark 8x, its read speed is always above 130Mb/s and its write speed is always above 120Mb/s after 5 consecutive tests. I used the built-in memory card reader on the GPD Winmax 2.😊

Same with me 1:00 My microSD SAMSUNG PRO Plus 256GB also only reached Read/Write Speed like that it was Read Speed : 92 MB/s and Write Speed : 81MB/s (Not Like on the packing there wrote 160 MB/s (Read Speed Up to) and 120 MB/s (Write Speed Up to). I though the speed like Samsung Evo Plusv 1:12, even though the price is more expensive. I don't know why can be like that ? Even i bought it from the Official Samsung Store. I think it's an elite level business game from the factory. I also concluded that it was the Samsung EVO Plus Chip embedded in the SAMSUNG PRO Plus casing. Try a higher variant, of evo+&pro+ both with 3.2cardreder, samsung evo plus of 512gb gives speed 90r & 80w, but ithink pro plus higher variant give 150+r &120+w

Your measurements are invalid. First get a proper UHS-1 capable reader and then do any tests. Of course these cards go faster both reads and writes.

@@donmarkon OK, I did tests, in Crystaldiskmark I get like R/W 95/85, copying files 90/80, ATTO 94/84, laptop reader 85/74 copying files. Not perfect but I hoped for these fast writes with this combo and I get 80+ which I wanted vs 24 on old one. Samsung test software confirmed genuinity of that card. Maybe this card has more to offer after some warm up, trimming etc.
