It's hard to find too many reviews or comparisons between the QN900A and the QN90A... from what I gather around the web the QN90A gets brighter in larger areas while the QN900A can get a much higher peak brightness at small levels. Would love to see someone like you with your thorough comparisons do a comparison between these two and compare bright highlight scenes and broader bright scenes for comparison.

When you show blooming on miniLED, why don't you adjust the exposure so it looks as close to real-life as possible? I know everyone would be viewing with different monitors, but it would be a good thing to see too. So people don't panic if the blooming isn't bad.
@johnb49053 жыл бұрын
What about a compromise and lower the exposure at the end to show how it looks to the naked eye?
@hdtvtest3 жыл бұрын
@Agiver Reviga: Because the dynamic range of cameras is less than the dynamic range of HDR TVs, there is no way to fully capture shadow detail without introducing blooming. If we don't use high camera exposure to capture what's presented on the TVs, shadow detail would be crushed in the captured footage, which deviates even further than what our eyes are seeing in real life. You can easily test this yourself by displaying a dark scene on any OLED/ FALD LED LCD TV, and trying to capture the shadow detail using a camera/ a phone to mimic what your eyes see. You will need to use such a high ISO that video noise and blooming is inevitable.

from personal experience the more expensive a tv the more sacrifices you make. I purchased an lg cx two years ago and in some situations it can look great and in others is looks like garbage . specially sdr content, when actors are in doors in a show it’s so dark you can’t see their faces ! last month i purchased a cheap $300 samsung tv for my kids and to my surprise it looks better than my lg cx in 90% of the content lol, i even started playing my ps5 on it as the picture looks so much more alive and vibrant than on the cx, and i can even play 30fps games on it with it and it’s not being choppy like a rock skipping on a lake when compared to my lg cx oled. Moral of the story buy what your gut tells you these reviews are nothing more than promotions for very pricy tvs that don’t really deliver and only look good on paper and in very controlled content for demo purposes .

Hi Vincent I've got a 75" QN900A and found while calibrating that SDR and HDR brightness would sometimes read higher, and SDR gamma would change. No. Because it's an integer multiple of most popular resolutions including 1440p it's the ideal resolution for integer scaling purposes. Higher pixel count also means higher PPI for large sized displays, which is very important as well. Seems the HDR is broken on this clip, it doesn't trigger at all.
@hdtvtest3 жыл бұрын
As explained in the KZbin description, KZbin takes a long time to process a 17-minute 2160p60 video for HDR presentation, so it may temporarily only be available to watch in SDR.

Can’t wait for the Sony Z9J review. Samsung have done well using that many zones. Can’t see Sony doing the same considering the price difference on the 85” model. 🤞🏼 but Sony knows how to do it right.

I envisage a point when each cell (pixel) will have a backlight that is specific to that cell. And that means each pixel will then be capable of having a very deep black level. And each LED will be a true RGB emission electrode.

Love your videos as you are based in the UK could you review the hisense a6g as it's a cheap 4k tv with dolby and vrr allm and game mode all for £429 for a 55inch from box curry's etc as it could be a decent TV for people like me who are on a very tiny(poor) budget thanks

Hi Vincent! Great video's! 👋 I would like to buy the Philips 9506 miniled tv, but I'm not sure if it has 100hz. The other specs look very promising 👌 Keep it up and until the next video 😉

I was watching the attract mode for this TV in a store recently and over all I liked the appearance it wasn't crush the blacks to much and it was bright enough. - with overall nice level of detail of most things. HOWEVER even on their own demo there was some worrying processing errors on the pan over the trees and on the jetski near a cliff it was like a TV of 10 years ago - not good at all all and that is an at least UHD image - so that is a bit worrying. Samsung is doing something a bit weird with it's 8K sets that seems to lead to them not processing images correctly or in ways that leads to image smear, posturisation, clickering or blurr. I think they need to get elbow deep in their code and see what the issue is, incidentally I was also looking at last years model and aside from some weird centre screen odditity that was barely noticable that didn't seem a huge difference and in some scenes the blurr or pixelisation was not present. It might be interesting to look at these TV's in extreme detail with a bluray disc looking at things like bright flowers see if it's doing weird things to that - Oh also I think it's mandatory to test the KZbin app on any 8K TV really since that will be people's main source of Native 8K content for the life time of this TV at least.. I wish Samsung would work on their little niggles they always manage to screw up the important little details. For example you can only have one working sound source on picture in picture out of the TV - (Unless you are really crafty with your inputs)
