Just got this Tv last Tuesday for my bedroom. My bedroom has 2 large back windows, a medium size side windows and 2 medium sized skylights. So my bedroom gets very bright. @Lasse32 жыл бұрын
Don't worry about blooming. The 2020 Q90T had literally a thousand times more blooming. People are on drugs complaining about blooming on the QN90A.. Infact the Local dimming if anything is abit too aggressive on the QN90A, it prioritizes suppressing blooming abit too much sacrificing small highlight peak-brightness, and often overly suppressing shadow detail. I would have preferred a bit more balanced approach. QN90A measures 1 : 25000 contrast ratio, QN90B measures 1 : 20000 contrast ratio. On the QN90B black will not be as black as it's predecessor QN90A. but this is due to the fact that the new algorithm and back-light / local dimming control is abit more conservative, it does a much better job of preserving small highlights and shadow detail, at the cost of slightly raised blackfloor.

Hey Vincent, based on your review of the QN95A I bought one myself to replace my Sony XG9505 - which I also bought based on your review, and was very happy with. Unfortunately the picture quality of my QNA95 55'' seems to be completely off: Colors in all modes are heavily oversaturated compared to Sony, to the point where purely red roses appear pink on my Samsung. All colors just look completely wrong to the point where I have to modify RGB Gain/Offset. All modes except for "Natural" cant reproduce true blacks - everything just looks washed out and grey. Also, the local dimming doesnt work properly on my NeoQLED. When I run a white-square dimming test, the NeoQLED illuminates larger areas than my XG9505 (despite 512 vs 64 zones) - the same applies to UI elements, which cause huge halo areas on the Samsung. Ive spent three days trying to make the picture look right, but I cant find the "one" mode that looks acceptable for both SDR and HDR. I am afraid that I will return the QN95A and continue using my XG9505, as overall, it doesnt require nearly as much tinkering to get an acceptable level of color accuracy and black levels. I am really wondering whether theres a huge quality variance with the QN95A, or my unit is defective. It looks nothing like your review suggests and it surely doesnt stay below Delta 3 for color accuracy. Greetings

@@keithzastrow I was unfortunately unable to return it (bought in store), and they said the panel was fine when I dropped it off, so they didnt offer any repair to me. I eventually had to sell the TV to someone because I could not put up with using it. During my time with it, I tested everything thoroughly. Not only did colors look weird (red = pink), the peak brightness in HDR was considerably lower than my Sony XG9505's too. On both TVs I used all tricks to extract maximum peak brightness, and the Sony was always ahead, especially noticeable on movie title screens - blindingly bright there. The QN95A was also unable to sync audio with various bluetooth headsets, all of which work on my Sony TV. Worst of all however, when connected to a HDMI 2.1 Desktop Computer (4K120hz) for Gaming, the QN95A frequently showed a black image for a few seconds. This issue is known online, it appears to be a firmware problem that hadn't been fixed at the time. Everything about - at least my particular - QN95A felt unfinished and jank. I am glad Ive gotten rid of it

@PCHardwareAnalysis huh....man I've spent a ton of time researching these for three past 3 weeks now. First I've heard of someone with so many complaints. I'm actually getting ready to buy the 85" version of this. I do zero gaming and will have it in a bright room so an OLED is out of the question.

@@keithzastrow I'm all about that peak brightness in HDR, even though my TV is not in a bright room. But yeah, OLED is out of the question for that. I dont really know how good Sony's latest TVs are, but I can only suggest to maybe check a few other alternative TVs before you make your purchase. Just recently Samsung released the premium G9 Odyssey 2021 HDR Monitor (same miniLED tech as QN95A) that is equally plagued by software problems and bad local dimming as my QN95A was. The monitor also claims to be HDR2000 nits but is nowhere near as bright as advertised - Samsung claims HDR2000 on the QN95A too, and mine wasnt that bright. Vincent, I hope you can answer this or some of your viewers can chime in. I have mostly been a Sony TV person. In the past, I have found Samsung TVs to have an overly saturated, unnatural color. Is this still the case? I am attracted to this TV, but I haven’t seen it in person and I won’t have an opportunity to see it in person. If it has the typical overly saturated Samsung color, I don’t believe I will like it. I like a natural, neutral color, like Sony. Is there a way in settings to fix this TV so that it has a more natural color?

Blue light filter doesn't "save your eyes". it's just that the color blue is associated with daylight in the human brain and you can't easily fall asleep. btw By default the LG oleds display more blue 7200k (c1) vs 6600k(QN90a)

Bought this TV a week ago from Costco for $1499 in 65in. Thought it was great...Then noticed the local dimming issues when using standard and high settings (local dimming on low fixes the issue, but defeats the benefits of FALD). The HUD elements in Halo Infinite fluctuated a ton in color vibrancy and brightness, to the point it made me look at the HUD to see if someone was coming towards me in game. Also, when making selections on my 4K player to type a Wi-Fi password in, the "next" and "previous" text at the bottom of the screen would go very dim unless the keyboard in the middle of the screen was selected to letters in the middle. It was very odd. My biggest issue is, the TV is just far TOO bright!! Like, painfully so. I had to take a 3 day break from looking at it after spending around 15 hours testing it Fri-Sun with various movies and Series X games. When I decided to turn down the brightness (finding out brightness actually means backlight for this TV) I had to set it so incredibly low to be comfortable that it defeats the purpose of a QLED. You lose a lot of contrast and dark detail with brightness at 7-9 points...I am going to look at getting an OLED now after the new 2022 releases seem to be much better with ABL and ASBL. It is just that the new OLEDS cost $900+ on average for the model they replaced, tough pill to swallow! Hope this helps someone. If you need brightness, like painful brightness, want to avoid burn-in and arent worried about HUD elements in competitive games, this may be a decent TV for you. I just think the compromises arent worth it considering the investment, to me.

Your room must be extremely dark for you to set brightness to 7-9. Have you considered adding some ambient lighting in the room or LED strip behind TV at 6500K?
@Handsx2 жыл бұрын
@@tyty0071 I ended up returning the QLED, got a 65in LG G1, took that back and got a 77in LG G1. It is perfect for our viewing area. I can watch it for long periods of time with minimal eye strain. The 65in we found ourselves leaning forward about 6-10inches on the couch to read smaller text. Upping to 77 fixed that. The OLED is perfectly bright and we even settle for 80-90 brightness in sdr content. Typically 90-100 for HDR.

Can this tv be forced to follow the eotf properly in HDR? The over brightening and over dimming sounds like it would take away from the depth and details to the image. The over dimming sounds like a good compromise to minimise blooming but the over brightening.....🙃 Also I heard the dynamic tone mapping may be defeatable in the service menu...rtings mentioned it on their review but would void your warranty. Please make a video about defeating it and then seeing how it compares with an oled. Surely it would be much more accurate and have better detail and depth. Would be awesome then. I just don't see the reason for tv makers to over brighten, when it could easily be changed in settings if you like it brighter with contrast enhancer settings......
