I think my galaxy A54 which I bought almost 2 yrs ago for 350$ is still better than it. (it also has a 120hz display with fast charging and 5000MAh battery. Features none of which standard non pro IPhones come with)

Not sure if it’s great but I don’t understand the criticism coming from the galaxy community especially the subreddit. Plus, A54 has worse battery life compared to A52, since it uses the inefficient Exynos chip. Some say that even base iPhone 12 lasts longer at the same price.

So in the spring of next year they will still be selling the Ipone 14 parallel to the new SE4! But SE4 has better camera 48MP vs 12MP (so better zoom than 14 but no wideangle). More RAM...more power and Apple intelligence, but cheaper. WTF!

I'm an ol skool kid, 486 Pentium days and I dont mind tellling you that you are wrong. Phones are made to run one app at a time, hardly what I would call crazy speeds. Try and update multiple apps and use another app at the same time and you'll see their designed limits. take the blinkers off!

@@JBSbass I would argue that Samsung S24 Ultra with 16 GB RAM should accommodate when plugged in to monitor and use dex mode. Multiple windows are up on the screen

Dex is restricted to only a couple open windows at a time, restricted in how many apps it can have open or even run full screen, the Google environment and all its apps are locked in, no MS Office, no x86 programs, mobile browsers do not deliver the same experience as a desktop browser and when on a large monitor scaling can be an issue. In a very basic sense it works but its no " laptop " or " notebook " and is not even close to the processing experience. Be nice to know what " laptops " are beaten by a mobile device and reminds of WindowsRT which tried to do the same.

Depending on your country next year all 2G/3G towers will be offline (UK, Canada,Japan, US) and most cheap phones don’t have VoLTE or 4G hard coded so it’ll probably use 3G to call even if it’s 4G/5G capable - sadly you’ll be forced to buy a decently expensive phone or I guess a used phone could be alright idk, pretty sus buying used electronics these days

Still using my SE mk1 and apart from a replacement cheapo battery last year it’s been excellent and has all the features I need. I for one would be happy for apple to bring out a new SE with latest cpu and a bit more base storage and latest iOS support and keep the rest more or less the same and charge significantly less for it than big iPhone. Also smaller size is excellent for keeping in pocket coz as a bloke I have pockets to put things in. SE isn’t poverty spec, it’s normal person spec.

Yeah. I owned the very first SE which just died without notice after five months of use. Jump several years later and I got the latest SE, based on the iPhone 8 with the processor of the iPhone 13. And I saw the battery of that one quickly and dangerously loosing health and longevity also after a few months of use. No SE anymore. I’m better off getting the two year older vanilla iPhone.

iPhone SE was always "recycled" version of some previous model with slight upgrade (CPU), since they have buyback program, they don't need to recycle all motherboards and cases, and displays they literally just replace CPU ... and now you have SE (well in fact, some slight changes on PCBs are required, so those can't be recycled, but rest of the phone can). It's similar to what they do with iPad Air ... which is just recycled version of 2/3 years old iPad Pro. it's quite good deal, if you take in account it's Apple (but even for this you pay Apple premium, that can't be denied) ... of course you can always opt out for different brand, and get something more powerfull for same money. Tbh. i still hope, they will put touchid into power button, like they did for iPad Air.
