I'm really happy with my S90C. Its the best available currently, and i waited long enough to pick a new tv. At some point, people just need to realize that they most likely are not going to get a perfect tv. There is always going to be a unicorn in given years. Feel lucky if you waited and timed things to be able to land one of those. The S90c has enough of what I was looking for when compared to others available. I dont disregard the fact that these companies are dishonest and nerf their products over time with their so-called "updates." Thanks to Qs advice, i have not and will not ever update the firmware on my tvs. Keep up the great work, Q.

Hey quantum; you hear anything about people renaming the s89c/s90c in the service menu and getting past the firmware bottleneck? I’ve heard you can get s95c color out of the lower tier models and am curious if something like that is safe to do or not. If so I’ll probably upgrade to the s89c from my lg c9. Thanks

The entire concept of new technology is completely thrown out the window these days. Companies like Samsung should not put out a new product If it doesn’t significaitly increase in technology from what they’ve already done before. Just leave the product that worked well available and out there in the market to purchase.

I talked to Samsung technical support team. He say that S90C has a 2nd generation panel in all inch models.

I just bought my s90c a month ago and it has the 2nd gen panel, it was built last September 2023, do you think Samsung updated it already?, should I return it? I'm using this for gaming primarily anyway. If i keep it of grid like you say, I should be good right?, is apple tv safe to use? If I want to return it, what other tv is good for gaming? Or should I resort to buying a monitor like an Alienware?

I like my s90c as a bedroom tv, my lg g3 is much better image quality than the s95c I saw in the shops. Imo

the whole point of the oneconnect box was originally supposed to allow the option to upgrade connections on your TV. At the time HDMI was fast and furious with revisions. Strangely enough they have never made upgrade boxes for older sets.

Yeah, the 1 connect box was just a marketing gimmick to give people hope their new shiny TV will be future proofed. Yet nothing ever came out of it, and still nothing does, and Sammy still will act as if it is some amazing feature. Lol.

I have had the S89c for 2 weeks now and it is nothing short of amazing. Granted I am coming from a 6 year old Sony x900e but I did a lot of research before this purchase. Gaming on the S89C is a totally new. It is truly an experience. HDR content is stunning. Overall very happy with the TV.

Turn HDR off....Playing on standard mode the colors are literally night and day difference....

Apart from gaming for movies how much is the difference in PQ over Sony. My Sony X9000F display gone. Me and my friends are thinking about 65 inch Sony X90L or 55 inch S90c both similar prices, Samsung slightly low, for 65 Samsung is very costly though.

Juat picked up the s90c, didn't make any changes to the tv settings and left it on intelligent mode and never connected it to the internet. I hooked up my PS5 and made some adjustments and played Spiderman 2 on the tv and it looks amazing. I also watched a 4k movie and didnt notice anything odd with the white or color, looked amazing. Another thing I tested was I connected with Dex mode wirelessly from my S23 phone and streamed from Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and Paramount+ the only thing i noticed was my phone doesn't get a super strong connection with 5G and drops to 4G lte due to where my house is located so it down grades the picture quality a bit. Overall it's and amazing tv coming from a Samsung QLED Q7DR. 😁👍

The S89c is $2199 now. That being said. I bought the S89c and i love it. It is great for gaming and HDR content. Even watching the Super Bowl last night in SDR was awesome.

i love my s90c tv is amazing .. but i have 1 issue when i play music from s23ultra to tv via bluetooth after some time tv shuts downs itself and this is going on so ... otherwise tv is mindblowing

The one connect box is absolute garbage, has less bandwidth than the tv ports therefor periodically cuts out which is extremely annoying, trust me Iv been through it, and it’s still a problem with the one connect in 2024, you’ve been warned.

Great TV so far had to set the clarity settings to 3,3 and off dues to horrible motion handling and now it's actually not there anymore still got to try game on it that could be the deal breaker si ce I use both Nvidia and AMD

If I am planning to use the TV for streaming and watching movies and series what makes more sense S90c or Sony A80L. Heard many people say Sony is smoother with motion etc. but overall seems a tad worse hardware wise. Tried to observe the difference in local retailers but couldn't see much tbh. Also Sony heads swear by their quality to last, and people seem to worry about Samsung updates as you mentioned. What do you think?

Go S90C. The Quantum dots give unrivaled oled color. Motion is also way smoother on Samsung. Sony motion is just bad these days. See my A95L motion video, that's how it is on all Sony tvs these days.

About samsung devious firmware moves--If I were to pick up an S95C today, or let's say any TV, would it be the firmware it was originally manufactured on launch day, with or would it be an up-to-date current firmware? Assuming I keep the TV offline.

LG is pretty safe with updates, Samsung you never know when they are going to need your TV after an update.

If we are talking about the S95B. It is good! Do not connect the tv to the internet. Use Google tv or Apple tv for streaming to avoid an unwanted forced update.

@@jasonlo8780 like C3 is such black crushing comparing to S90C. Also C3 has Very LOW color volume. It’s rated 7.9/10. S90C is 9.1/10. Color volume are important it creates Illusion of “transion of shade” of Same color. From dense to faint which makes bright images MORE 3D. Give 350-600nit leve med shade images MORE TEXTURE. :P

I purchased the S95C and having issues with my PS5. Seems other are having the same issue with the 1 connect box. PS5 disconnects random for 5 seconds, shows a black screen then connects back. It appears it only happens with the PS5.

Go to ps5 settings, in screen and video settings find transfer rate ad set it to -1

thats becasue the one connect box of the S95C can only transfer 40gbps and not the 48 it should of! so the hmdi 2.1a port cant be perfectly maxed out! So the S90C is literally better in data transfer speed

How’s the motion when watching sports on this tv? Can you see the 🏈 ⚽️ 🏀 🏒 when it’s in motion or does it disappear like most TVs? I’m looking into getting a S90C, QN90C or a Sony x90l but not sure since Best Buy only carries x90l and I can’t compare them visually.
