Dope vid… Ive had the C2 and can say it’s a beautiful tv. Main reason im switching over to the Samsung is for more streaming options and I personally don’t see much difference with the Dolby stuff. I’m curious what the HDR10+ has to offer and I’m excited to compare to my 2018 75 LED which still shows amazingly

These comparisons are top notch with quite a few important details gone over that other reviewers seem to miss. If you are gaming on latest generation consoles or PC with all the goodies like 4K, HDR, 120Hz, VRR and ALLM, that is great! BUT... What if those aren't the only things that you play? What about the many titles that are on the Nintendo Switch and other previous generation consoles that so many people love to play that are 1080p or lower in resolution and strictly SDR only? Other reviewer giants seem to forget about that crowd of people. How do these TVs handle SDR brightness and colours? How well do they upscale lower resolutions? You see, that is something I very appreciate seeing in these comparisons! Kudos for covering this! 👍

How is the clarity on the s90c? I have a c2 and s95b, and while the colors are more vibrant in game mode on the s96b, my c2 feels alot clearer, especially in motion. Perhaps faster pixel response time? Could be pixel density since its smaller? But was also wondering if its due to the antireflective coating the qd oleds have.

Thanks, what a great video! I'm playing with the LG E7 65'' and it has been good about 5 years, but you already highlighted things that newer ones by the LG are still "oldish". I have also aging/burn in -problem in the E7, so I ordered the s95b with the 5v extended warranty. Furthermore, I believe that 5 years in OLED technology is quite reaching max lifespan because pixels are aging faster, and my advice is not to buy any OLED without extended warranty :-) In my E7 over 4 years of usage, pixels have bad aging issues. Uniformity is bad, banding stripes and dark spots/areas, like the whole center of the screen having darker panel areas. I had two choices to go: QN90B or S95B. I just wanted to go for OLED because of the contrast and better black :-) BTW I already ordered the LG SE model but after watching your videos I changed my mind and choose to go for S95B. Luckily I was able to change my order and they had only one S95B in stock :-)

In this video I find that the Samsung S90C looks better than the LG C3, but after buying both and comparing them side by side, using the TVs only connected to a PC with HDMI for films and TV series (I never game), I ended up keeping the LG and returning the Samsung. Game mode is dimmer on the LG than on the Samsung, so obviously for a gamer, the Samsung is a better choice, but not for me. Before comparing, I followed Classy Tech Calibrations' recommendations. Although the setting of peak brightness definitely made the Samsung brighter, it wasn't a super necessary setting for me, and I found that the LG looked slightly clearer (higher definition), while the Samsung looked slightly smeared, which a friend also noticed right away, and I liked the colours more on the LG. Especially skin tones on human faces had a nicer, slightly brownish tint, whereas on the Samsung skin tones tended to look a bit more pink or even yellowish-greenish. In some cases, the LG also had a nice, warm golden tint to it, while the Samsung looked a bit sandy and dull. Greens could also at times look slightly more lively on the LG. Then the LG also generally made low quality content look better, although not in every single way - again the LG looked clearer, which could reveal more pixels but also preserve more details, while the Samsung looked more smeared, which removed large pixels but it also noticeably smeared details, and some might prefer that. Also, in some cases of really bad KZbin early 90s wrestling matches, the Samsung showed large areas of enormous pixels that were overly bright, while the LG made these areas look much less obtrusive, and the overall picture was just nicer and calmer to look at on the LG. One aspect where the Samsung was much better was reflection handling. Although the LG looked good in a bright room with open windows and the lights turned on, it's screen surface was a bit like a mirror (although removing the protective film improved this a bit), while the Samsung's matte coating eliminated most of the reflections. But I always use a dark room with curtains, so ... The LG wasn't a hands down win for me, but overall it was. Nevertheless, I would be happy to recommend the Samsung to anyone who can either only get the Samsung or it's a bit cheaper, or they prefer the settings of the Samsung. The differences were overall rather small.

Dont get me wrong the qdoled panel is the future, however i belive the 2nd gen panel requires some polish in the processing and accuracy department. Lets see what the 3rd gen panel has in store. Doesn't the LG C3 maintain blacks better when not in a dark environment, though? I thought that QD-OLEDs suffered an issue where they reflected more ambient light than they absorbed compared to W-OLEDs? Or is that an issue that the S90C doesn't have compared to other QD-OLED displays? I'm trying to figure out which type of display will work best for me since I also use my PC for productivity and content creation. I need a screen that will still look good if I have to turn my overhead light on to write notes or draw concept art in my sketchbook.

First thing I do on every TV. C3 isn’t dim just next to a QD OLED it can look dimmer because it’s about half as capable brightness wise almost so it’s a bit more dramatic in camera when you have brightness differences.

I have a 65” 95b in my bedroom. (Used to be in my man cave). I originally ordered the LG C3 to put in the man cave. The LG has a very nice organic picture and the colors are nice. But im def a brightness guy and after QD-OLED the c3 just wasn’t doing it for me. I have a 65” LG C1 in our living room but no one really watches that tv. I don’t play games anymore really either. But the LG C3 brightness just wasn’t making me happy enough. I thought about the G3 but $1000+ more for some brightness increase wasn’t worth it. Seems the Samsung s90c is the sweet spot for what I want. So i just called Best Buy to do an exchange so they will be delivering the s90c and picking up the LG c3 for return. Both tvs have their pros and cons but for me it was the brightness levels and colors for The QD-OLED that did it for me.

I need a new TV and am convinced on the S90C. It will be interesting if the C4 gets the G3 panel though. I'm not sure how LG can compete with the S90C. I feel like for the price it'll remain the king throughout 2024. LG needs to keep the WOLED on the G series, and just lower the price on the C4 with slight improvements over the C3. My only reservation is that I do think LG quality is better than Samsung these days. I went through a couple Samsung PC monitors that had problems until landing on this LG Ultragear. It doesn't matter if the Samsungs are better, this LG works correctly. I love it.

DirecTV has some pretty rough picture quality so both TVs can't help much there id say Samsung tends to make it look a bit more sharper which can help the feed quality. As for gaming S90C is a much better gaming TV overall. S90C is brighter for SDR like live TV as well if that matters.

I almost bought the c3 last week, just going by everything I'd read in past years about the LG's, and figured I'd do a little more research just to make sure and I'm glad I did. I didn't realize how good the Samsung has gotten. FWIW I get a great picture through DirectTV, compared to any cable I've ever seen. Only issue is that in a storm you lose the feed but then I can just use the streaming feature from the PC I have hooked up.

Besides the price difference, the thing that made me never consider a qd oled is the brightness. It’s supposed to be as bright as a qled. Having briefly had a qled, the brightness even toned down bothered my eyes too much. I didn’t want to bother with another set that bright.

Top brightness means nothing in side by side comparison, especially something captured on a camera and then viewed on a screen. Brighter will always look more saturated in comparison. And max brightness that might look better on a video, could be blinding in a dark room during real world use, while the dimmer screen might itself be too much for real world use, so both would be normally turned down to brightness levels below even what is pictured. Even 300 nits in a dark room is like a flashbang, let alone 1000 nits.

personally i don't like the Colour preset that samsung apply on the OLED, it's too vibrant and everything like skin tones looks red. even on my 75" Q90R the red's are over saturated. I use a 42" C3 for Gaming because i prefer the Absolute Blacks and stuff for Games over the QLED.

I returned a S90c because my wife and I did not enjoy the movie and tv motion and processing. Its a personal thing but we didn't like it and the picture felt flat in some ways as well. Ended up with a G3 and am a 100% happy. However for gaming the S90 was amazing and if you're gaming more than 50% of the time I'd get that over other options.

​@@exhibitD79Did you try reducing the judder? Under picture clarity settings if you set it to custom there is an option to reduce the judder and blur. Try setting the judder all the way down.

@@exhibitD79 IMO a manual judder setting of 2 was the best result that I got out of it. Now on the LG I prefer a manual judder of 3 or the built in cinematic option. If you're still in your return period see if a store will let you try changing some settings in person to compare

@@TheAntifluencer On the S90c I had to reduce colors because Samsung way over does it out of the box. I'm a 100% happy with the colors on the G3 and I am not missing QD-OLEDs colors 98% of the time. I found that by boosting colors in game mode to 70-75 on the LG its almost as colorful as the QD OLED and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything when the LG does everything else so well. Yes I'll agree QD-OLED is a better panel but the way LG processes and works compared to Samsung to me is more important. And yes the A95L should be the TV of the year pricing aside

I bought a s95c and I'm happy with the brightness of the SDR, but the HDR is terrible. I used to use the OLED CX with DTM turned on, now I turned off the HGIG on the S95C and turned on the Active DTM and the movies are still dimmer than on my CX, the same goes for games. Yes, bright objects are really bright, but the rest of the picture looks dimmer, is this normal? (And yes, I turned off energy saving and other improvements and checked it hundreds of times)

With all the SuperBowl sales going on this is a great time to buy a TV and my Panasonic plasma finally gave up the ghost so it was destiny. Went to Best Buy after reading about OLED S90C and what a great near picture it was to the more pricey S95C. Personally for $1,600 I am more then satisfied with this Samsung OLED. I watch a decent amount of sports and I don’t see how it gets much better than this. I’m certainly satisfied.

I bought the C3 and returned it within a few days because it developed a green line. I purchased the Samsung because of these reviews but the black on my Samsung is a gray color. It is not true black is there anyway to fix this in settings because as of right now, the C3 has a much better picture quality.

Reminds me of like an Android OLED vs Apple OLED comparison.. I find C3 colors being much much true color/tone, as Samsung a bit more unnatural (to vibrant) as with mobile phones. Give a thumbs up for C3 giving us a DTS on OLED displays.. now DTS.. if 95b or 90c had DTS it would be my first pick, now again, I am truly confused. If you don't enable "Peak Brightness" there will be 0 ABL even on full whites. I find it plenty bright without peak brightness, dimming was really annoying me on the C1.

im watching this on a w oled monitor and i noticed a few things. as the samsung was brighter but the lighting was washed out... look at the definition of the football players the samsung has a lack of shading making the charicters look quite fake.. also i didnt find the colors as belivable. look at the sun when teh glare hits the screen.... the light on one is washed out the other looks so much better also was the samsung in 60hz mode it seemed blurry in the football game . i also noticed you where using the custom game setting on the lg and it just hapened to be the darkest setting in the line of presets.. .

I have s90c 65' on my living room and i can tell you is stunning because of the brightness, and for videogames HDR content is exquisite, i also got C3 55' for my bedroom, all i can say is a wonderful tv, contrast and blacks are better and more natural than the saturated colors on s90c, audio on LG C3 is better, WebOS is 50% faster, and fall in love with the Magic remote. C3 : more versatile, videogames and movies or series, i recommend this TV for a bedroom or a dark room, you gonna love watching this TV on movie or videogames night alone or with your gf, is just top notch S90C: stunning TV, for a living room you and your guests gonna love it, you gonna beat sun light with that brightness, this tv for just video games is crazy Both are crazier tvs all i can say go to the store and go fall in love with both of them and use them, make your decision after using them for a minute, both are top best oled tvs for that discounted price rn on april 2024

Look at the mountain which has better detail. I get that some prefer color vibrancy/saturation but others, like myself prefer image clarity/detail (not to mention other aspects). To me it seems like LG for picture clarity/detail or Samsung for color vibrancy/saturation if those aspects of image quality are top reasons for your buying decision.

I think maybe LG is better at preventing it but in a real world scenario the burn in risk is probably very similar and most people won't experience it for a couple of years with regular usage.

@TechWithKG it's clear lg was worried about burn in by pushing the extra brightness and color like they could have done. It makes sense but still sucks. This is also the issue with them offering these massive warranties they will try finding work arounds to make it so they don't have to worry as much. Which In turn will hurt areas of the image due to them trying to get as little warranty claims as possible. It's all business and we may see them slacking in areas for a while longer until they have confidence in the product. Issue is all of these changes makes it hard for them to trust there own product lol.

I just returned my s90c. Oversaturated mess poor upscaling tv and inteligent mode on picture broken. Also very cheap and flimsy plastic and nowthere near to lg quality. LG is more accurate and quick enough. Also picture went black, then tried to change colour space and it was latest firmware. I never had a problems with lg tv and work straight from the box not like samsung.

Not KG, but most you can do in the settings is enabling Movie picture mode (or another one that isn't Filmmaker, which is the dimmest), cranking the brightness to the max, applying native color space and high peak brightness.

I tend to keep the CE at low but sometimes use max, agreed it looks better so why wouldn't you use it, just crank up the shadow detail a little to compensate for the tiny increase in black crush

I actually use contrast enhancer for my Movie Mode when watching HDR10+ content. If it's standard HDR, then I'm in Film Maker mode where CE is turned off.

Not directly but I have a few still shots I believe I have to take a second look through my footage. It’s tough to show in motion though because of copyright and whether or not it’ll get claimed despite it being fair use sometimes it just gets flagged and kills the entire video which is why most of us don’t even bother showing TV shows or movies unless it’s stills.
