How is the sub-4k upscaling capabilities of the S90D? The biggest issue with the S90C was poor upscale processing so I hope it's much better this year

Have you really tested that out or are you just piggy backing off commenters? I have a S89C and any content 720p and above the Samsung does an excellent job of processing. Now I will agree any content in 480i does look well like its suppose to. I'm not expecting the Samsung to polish a turd, nor do I really watch reruns of MASH or Andy Griffith on my state of the art TV...

Just installed the 55" S90C about two weeks ago. Fantastic picture and we bought it for $1,299. I see the S90D is going for $1,999 at most places.

That's how it always works. When the S90C came out the S95B was on deep discount that made the S90C seem like a bad value.

1:14 the panels isn’t the same for all sizes only the 55in,65in and 77in get the QD-oled the 42in,48in and 83in get the w-oled.

Hello everyone! I wanted your opinion regarding my current situation of S90D So basically, I got a really sweet deal on the S90D 77" which was here on HUGE sale in Middle east Saudi Arabia for around 2300$ which is super nice for that price! I used to have a Sony x9000h 75" but decided to upgrade, anyways the issue is I just found out after making the purchase and awaiting the delivery that there is some sort of panel lotteries specifically in the S90D lineup that you could get a WOLED panel in that TV. After extensive research I have found out that my TV is going to be WOLED and not QD-OLED in Saudi Arabia which was a bummer to me honestly. Nevertheless, people were saying i'm going to have blast either way since i'm coming from a regular LED TV and I agree. But I wanted to take your opinion guys regarding this, since after seeing the comparisons between WOLED and QD-OLED that the colors are SO much more vibrant and nicer in the QD-OLED. so should I return the TV and get the S90C for the same exact price or should I just continue with this purchase and it's going to be nice still? Keep in mind that the only S90C that is left that I can take is the one displayed in their store, and it's in the same exact price of the S90D that I'm getting and it's brand new, and in that case I would be guranteed a QD-OLED display since I think that there were no WOLED panel in the S90C lineup. Appreciate you guys for reading this and taking the time, anyone's opinion is welcome and looking forward to hear from you guys! Love from Saudi 💙

@shaymtbrider7244 Both are very good choices. The Samsung is a little brighter overall, but the C4 supports Dolby Vision which is a common HDR format found on 4K Blu Ray discs. If you have a large collection of 4K Blu Rays then you may want to go with LG. If not, the Samsung is a great option. Another improvement over the previous model (at least for the 48 inch version) is more than 25% reduction in weight (23.4 pounds w/o stand). First and foremost these units are TVs which in the US means that they MUST include a OTA (over the air) tuner. How well does it work as an actual TV? During inclement weather hardwired Internet frequently fails. Does the TV tuner work without an active internet connection (my Visio will not)? That translates to no access to current weather information via local TV stations. Does it upscale ATSC 1.0 to 4K well ?

@Bonjour-World Not sure if the US ever got a 48" version of the S90C so we can't speak to the weight reduction. As far as the tuner goes, it works well, but you also have to take into account the type of antenna you hook up to it, and the location of the antenna. Those will have a major impact on channels getting tuned in. The tuner will still work even if you don't have an active internet connection, and the TV does a good job upscaling ATSC 1.0 to 4K.

@@abtelectronics Thank thee for thy response 😀 I have a external Televes Ellipse Mix antenna on an 17 foot pole aimed 5 degrees south of due east. My Silicon Dust network tuner (the Visio 50 inch TV has been discarded) can receive all ATSC 1.0 stations in the local market and a number outside of it (including a few from Mexico). Of course there are only about six that are of any real interest. There are no ATSC 3.X stations in this area in the foreseeable future. My problem is the lack of quality hardwired broadband internet service. At this point I am considering StarLink gen 3.

@vdokurt You could honestly flip a coin. Those are all great TVs. A80L has the most natural colors. S90C has the brightest picture. C3 is a great combination of the two.

This is my first OLED, I get it Monday. I'm really nervous about burn in after reading up on OLED TVs. My question is... I watch mainly Network TV sitcoms and sports. How do I prevent burn in? Thank you!!!

@Caps78 It has features built in to help prevent it from happening. It's best to avoid watching programming with static logos/images on the screen for very long periods of time. These newer OLED models are much better at avoiding burn in than the older models.

Only 55”, 65” and possibly 77” are QD-OLED, the rest are WOLED without MLA, so not comparable at all. In fact in Europe only 1 size out of 6 is QD-OLED. I don’t feel this retailer is doing their job.
