A lot of tech folks are comparing this to the Apple Studio Display. The challenge is that they are two very different monitors, aimed at different end users. Samsung's has a far broader appeal and is probably the better choice for most people, as it is substantially cheaper and full featured. It's IO, speakers and display is worse than Apple's (from what I have seen), but I think Apple missed the mark with the Studio Display and it is far too expensive for what it is. Long story short, I would get this instead.

I would not compare with the Apple Studio Display as that is 5K which is better and only two devices have that resolution. So this compares with 4K displays like the Huawei Mateview. The latter is £300 cheaper in the UK and a much better monitor. I am not interested in the "smart" features as you can get those on my TV or by just hooking up a PC. This Samsung device seems way overpriced, cheap-looking and pretty average display (does not even look like it is IPS).

I was waiting so long for someone to review this monitor! Yas! The main gripe with the previous monitor, the M7, was that it didn't get very bright. This one is 400 nits, while the old one is 250 nits, so think this will be my new monitor. Thank you, Thao. 😍

From what I can tell this is a better and more versatile monitor than the overly expensive Apple Studio Display… I would definitely get this if I was in the market for a display.

Not to defend the Apple Studio Display's high price but it is a display for content creators, designers etc. It most probably has more accurate colours which is important for designers, editors etc so I think both are different. But this monitor which everything it includes is pretty amazing. If in the future they can use their high-end displays like QLED, AMOLED or Mini-LED it would be insane but I doubt it because of how expensive their QLED TVs are.

@@OXIR Price is never the problem. Nobody wants to make an oled monitor bc of burn in issue. Unlike phones or tablets, where people only look at for minutes or couple hours at a time, a monitor has to work around the clock. That kind of usage is not something oled panels can handle.

I have Samsung TV at home. After watching this video, I can say this monitor is exactly what my Samsung TV can do, including the Office 365 and Samsung Internet app. I like my Samsung TV, so i think this monitor should be great too.

I am waiting for a this kind of monitor where the panel is mini led and 120hz. Basically a Macbook M1 Max display in 32 inch 4k. Also glossy like Macbook as well as the picture quality of glossy displays are significantly better than matte ones given that u can control the light of your personal space. And fingers crossed for that being 1000 bucks. That would be amazing.

great review! so when I was reviewing the Samsung M7 I mentioned that the m7 does almost all, but wouldn't be for a designer/video editor, because of the screen and not for a heavy gamer since it is only 60hz. would the screen be a solid option for editors/designer?

You can almost replicate this with a 32" Smart TV which would cost significantly less. Would have the same Connectivity and Apps but not the 4K or USB C ports. It's clear why this is a Smart Monitor not a Smart TV and most people find using a TV to work from an odd experience. I like it.

If this was 90hz and a few inches bigger, I'd literally buy two tomorrow. As awesome as this is overall, I just can't justify buying a 60hz panel in 2022. It's the equivalent of using micro usb instead of usb c. Or resistive touch screen instead of capacitive: It's a new product built on yesteryear tech.

@@jeanbaptistelabelle here's the thing: all of these cool features are secondary to the main function: being a monitor. It's 2022. Who actually believes 60hz monitors are good anymore? Nobody. Samsung decided to make a modern monitor with modern design, use, but it was too expensive, so they used a yesteryear panel. But ultimately the panel is the core component. That's the part you'll be staring at for 15,000+ hours if you buy this. By today's standards this panel isn't impressive and in three years will be a decorative relic. 100% certainty.

None gaming monitors are not going to be high refresh rate. The highest they go is at least 75hz. Those that are gaming monitors are start at 144hz. So yeah have fun with your joke of a 90hz monitor.

I'm curious as to why I would choose this monitor over one of Samsung's smart TVs. My Q60A 43'' offers most of the features of this monitor with the added benefit of actually being a TV; with digital tuner, for less money. It even runs the same OS and supports compatible USB web cams. It seems like a great product but at first glance I cannot see why I would chose it over what I currently have available.
