I have an amp reader , also when battery goes bad the tablet still turn on or do something but when the charging port is bad the tablet is not going to show sign of life

How do you know if port on tablet is broken? I see nothing in it. Absolutely nothing, just dark. Shouldn't there be little pins in it? Tab won't charge. Cable and adapter all work on other devices. Tab also seems to be using up the battery, even when it's off. Odd, because this all just happened today! It was fine, yesterday. Can you give advice? Thank you. (It's a samsung galaxy tab 8a.)

Best way is to test the amp consumption , I know you need to have the tools but is the only way to get a better diagnostic , now days you can buy a charger with amp reader for a good price , good luck
