I think mine is a previous generation samsung washer/dryer. It front loads and has similar selection knobs and all other details (except the smaller door on the front). Best washer and dryer I ever got. Samsung is "it" when it comes to washer/dryers.

this machine is prone to leak, i used 3 samsung machine before, 1 prone to leak & water pump clog, another prone to self explode, and last one the drum spider leg keep failing, which then i change to hitachi top loader non heater with very basic features, less parts to fail.

Look out for paid reviews. I have had mine for 4 years, it has had three major faults, the Main PCB board broke after 2 years and 2 weeks Samsung initially said they would not help follow escalation of complaint they sent a repair man, Despite the fault code being given and knowing what the fault was he turned up without a replacement board, said it would be 2 weeks to order in a new one and he would return!. More time off work for the next appointment. Now only 4 years old the main bearings have gone. Samsung are refusing point blank to repair under warrantee. The bearings cannot be replaced, the whole rear tub at the cost of £167, just for the part needs to be replaced. Do not buy Samsung, both the machine and customer service is appalling. Both Samsung and AO customer service is appalling. I have now replaced the unit (with a HOTPOINT, which was £60.00 cheaper on Amazon than AO!). My last Hotpoint lasted 9 years before it wore out and I brought the Samsung, I have learnt my expensive lesson. I will never buy another Samsung product. (My large screen Samsung telly broke at 3years old too….)

Hoses can disconnect on top-load washers also. Top-Loading washing machines are somewhat better at spinning because everything is on the bottom, while Side-load machines are somewhat better at washing because the clothes are turned easier. In the case of tight spaces top-loading machines use less space around them because there is no door on the side (to dry the inside of the machine).

P.S. the model 8kg I’m thinking of buying has no Daily Wash function which is a negative as seemingly that option is around one hour. Wonder why Samsung has it on 9kg, but not 8kg silver color too. The white 7kg has it but I don’t want white 😆

Front load washers are better at washing because the clothes are always falling down and thus they are turned easier to the other side, but top load washers spin the clothes somewhat easier because the weight of the clothes remains down instead of having the possibility to go to the top of the drum and thus offsetting the balance.

Seit genau 13 Monaten besitze ich nun die schlechteste Waschmaschine die ich je in meinem Leben besessen habe. Ich bin 55 Jahre und führe seit mehr als 30 Jahren meinen eigenen Haushalt, da hatte ich natürlich schon so einige Waschmaschinen. Angefangen mit Privileg von Quelle, dann Wirlpool, Zanker, Hoover und zuletzt in Deutschland Miele. Nun bin ich vor 1 1/2 Jahren nach Südamerika ausgewandert und natürlich musste ich mir auch hier in meine Gastland eine Waschmaschine kaufen. Die meisten Geräte hier sind Toplader die man aus amerikanischen Filmen kennt - nur mit dem Unterschied das die meisten Geräte hier nur kalt waschen. Ich wollte aber eine gute und komfortable Waschmaschine wie in Deutschland auch, deshalb griff ich zu einem Gerät von Samsung. Das war die schlechteste Entscheidung in meinem Leben, die Maschine hat umgerechnet ca. 800 € gekostet (also kein Schnäppchen) aber ich wollte auf der sicheren Seite sein. Samsung kennt man ja.....weit gefehlt.....die Qualität ist absolut "Grottenschlecht"....der Service von Samsung bei der Fehlerbehebung (Kundendienst usw.) ist nochmals um Welten schlechter als die miserable Produktqualität. Nach gut 11 Monaten wurde die Maschine undicht (alle Gummis und das Flusensieb regelmässig gereinigt), am Anfang war es nur wenig Wasser und ich dachte ich hätte eben etwas Wasser verschüttet. Aber da ich nicht so oft Wäsche wasche fiel mit die Undichtigkeit gar nicht so auf, nach gut einem Jahr aber war der Mangel einfach nicht mehr zu ignorieren - aber die Garantie war nun abgelaufen. Ja die Garantie war abgelaufen denn die "gute und schlaue" Firma Samsung gibt in Südamerika nur 1 Jahr Garantie - ich bin mittlerweile überzeugt das hier in Südamerika nur 2. Wahl Geräte verkauft werden. Wenn alles 1. Wahl wäre könnte Samsung ja auch 2 Jahre Garantie oder Gewährleistung geben wie in Deutschland eben auch. Der Kundendienst bzw. die Hotline auf Facebook ist entweder nicht zu erreichen, geht nicht auf das Problem ein oder ignoriert ganz einfach meine Anschreiben und Probleme. Ja selbst zu Samsung nach Südkorea habe ich geschrieben - leider keinerlei Reaktion. Alles in allem waren alle vorherigen Waschmaschinen, ja selbst die Hoover Waschmaschine um Welten besser als die Maschine von Samsung. Und mittlerweile habe ich von anderen Deutschen die in Peru leben erfahren das Samsung in den Maschinen für den südamerikanischen Markt billige Bauteile verwendet - da kann ich nur sagen : Pfui Deibel ! Nochmals würde ich unter keinen Umständen jemals wieder Samsung Geräte kaufen, gleich um welches Produkt es sich handelt. Samsung : Nein Danke !

This machine works fine till now... Although the brand is the same the quality of products can be different from country to country! We noticed this in the '90s, for example detergent had worst quality in Eastern Europe compared to Central or Western Europe.

The detergent must be of good quality, or first use bleach and then wash. If the clothes are allowed to get too dirty then it's harder. "Daily Wash" program should be OK.

Can you tell me the function of the option inside SPIN, below 400: a SPIN icon with a slash. I guess that means "do not SPIN". But if you don't want to SPIN you can just press touch button SPIN and it will be disabled. What is the point of enabling it and then choose disable inside the enabled option?

Douglas Some people like to remove clothes as soon as they have been spun. Spinning compresses the clothes and causes creasing, if the clothes sit in the machine after spinning the creases become more "set" and harder to iron out. So you select the spin hold function and go about your day. When you return the clothes are sitting in water, uncreased. You press the spin hold button, the clothes are spun while you are waiting and you can remove them instantly.

I will never buy a Samsung washing machine not after what I saw on KZbin where the washing machines was blowing up. I have got the Bosch washing machine and am happy with it, it does the job and is very quiet. I don't trust Samsung washing machines unless it's the phones or tablets.
