Samsung Watch 4 and Gear S3 Frontier

Good video. I just told my son how robust the frontier is. I'm toying with the idea of buying the watch 4 classic. For now 160€. The frontier I got 4 or 5 years ago? For 150 euro as an offer. I use my s22 ultra to pay and that should also work with the watch 4. In any case, I am pleased that others are also convinced of the quality of the frontier. I bought my S3 Frontier a year after it first came out and it has been going strong ever since. It has taken a few bad impacts resulting in one small scratch on the bezel which I hid with a marker. Even the original battery is still going strong. This week I was given a Watch 5 pro and I currently have one watch on each wrist! I don't really have any reason to say goodbye to the S3. The only improvement I have noticed so far is a more detailed sleep report on the Watch 5. The S3 also gives me more steps for hand gestures, but curiously less steps for bicycle riding, so by the end of yesterday I had a couple of hundred more total steps on the Watch 5 as opposed to the S3! Of course the new watch has more features, but as far as the basics go, you can't go wrong with the S3.

Ive had my S3 frontier for a few years, just got the 5 for free from Verizon when i got my S23. I honestly cant say that i like the 5 much better. It is lighter, but i really like the bezel and toughness of the frontier. I alternate between them

I feel exactly the same way. I liked the S3 Frontier the best. Great to have the choice. I replaced the battery in my S3 Frontier and it works like new. I liked the selection of free watch faces for the S3 Frontier better also.

Agreed you need the body protection when doin labor outside, why I just take it off before. But still that added protection keeps it new including a stick on bezel, w protective screen for scratches.

Does the s3 frontier work well in 2023? I am thinking about picking it up later today from Amazon. I like the look of that over the newer Samsung watches and Apple Watches are just yucky.

I don't have it anymore, so I can't say. Many still report liking it better than the newer ones.

I've had mine since I got it clear back whenever that was. I'm on here watching this video trying to figure out if I want to get the four classic or the six classic. Battery life wasn't great on it anymore so I swapped it out a while back, just recently it started having trouble charging though. I'm sure another S3 would be fine, but it is a little bit laggy. Just depends on what you want to spend and what your expectations are. An S3 frontier is better than no watch, but yeah it just depends on what you want.

I had my Galaxy Watch 4 for a year and it recently went out on me. It won't charge or turn on. Samsung did nothing for me. I have the Galaxy Watch 3 too. That has no issues; it still works and I am sporting that now. Seems like the newer watches are made poorly.

Sorry 😞 your watch failed. We have two Watch 4's that are one year old and so far working correctly. My old Gear S Frontier is still running all these years later, but I did change the battery. Electronics are kinda like that. Mostly good but sometimes things happen. I know we all try to make great purchasing decisions. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful day.

Nice video, I have a Gear S3 Frontier, and I´m in the doubt of changing to watch 4. I won´t use the LTE connection, would you recommend to buy the watch 4? I'm pretty happy with my S3 and it´s my daily use with my S22 ultra

I would say stay with your S3, since you are very happy with it. I don't use the LTE much but it is nice to have at times. You will know when an upgrade is compelling enough to go for it. I gave my S3 to my grandson and he really likes it. I do like the watch 4 and am very pleased with it and the price was right ✅️ 😀. Thank you for watching and commenting. I've had the s3 for a while now I think the battery is almost shot tho it drains mad quick now! I cant rlly complain tho a crackhead went and lifted it from Walmart and sold it to me brand new in the box for a hit😂 but I'm wondering how hard is it to change the battery or should I just cop the GW4 for $110?

Technically the battery is easy to change if the head of the screws don't strip out due to excessive use of locktite on the screws. I had to drill off one stripped screw head. Doable but you must decide.

I think the S3 Frontier has a more appealing design overall, with the metal body and the rotating bezel with physical buttons, now days it seems all the life has gone out of the design ascetic choices, the new one just seems plain, simple and boring. Kind of like what companies these days are changing their logos too. like Churches Chicken for example. I got my S3 Frontier for $60 on eBay a few months ago and I love it, the design is perfect and the watch is very fast. It does everything i need it to do and I couldnt ever want anything more.
