So we have a Samsung dishwasher. A different model then your. But we noticed an issue with our water wall. We called Samsung and the phone technician only knew to shut off the breaker and turn it back on. Then told us if we need a technician to come over to text him. So I started the Google search. Up come your video and I think sure let see what the honest dad has to say. Long story short you sir are a very smart man and helpful to the rest of us. Now we know how the lower water wall works. Thanks! My dishwasher was making a noise. I had figured out that the detached waterwall was the problem, and I could even see the notch where it was supposed to hook into, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to snap into place. The 45 degree angle was the tip I was missing. I had to hold my fingers against the bottom part I was I snapping the water wall on to, but combined with the 45 degree angle trick, it worked like a charm! No more noise.

Hey brother! Thank You. I have the same dishwasher but mine tried to start and in a bout 20 sec in it would beep three times then blink three times. I was pretty sure my dishwasher had the same problem as your s did but I wasn’t sure so I called Samsung and talk to a person who troubleshooted the problem to be in the waterfall slider. Thank you for this video! I have same washer, it had the same problem and you got me thinking of a simpler solution. I purchased a pack of 3/8" X 0.060" rare earth disk magnets at the hardware store, they cost less than $5 for a pack of 12. I took out the bar, snapped one disk magnet on top of the existing magnet, put the bar back in, and the problem is gone! The new magnet is stuck so hard that I can barley pry it off, so I doubt it will ever drop off on its own. Just be certain to use a thin magnet, because the first time I tried this the magnet was 1/8" thick and it was to big to work correctly. Thanks again for the idea!

@wstt4 Жыл бұрын
@@karao7831 I did end up figuring it out. I can’t remember what I’ve posted above, but I will say that after putting my phone in a glass container and running in the wash for half cycles, I discovered the motor for the water wall was not working. I replaced the part for $140, but then had the problem with the water wall would go forward and then just go back and try to keep going back and not recognize that it had hit the back of the washer. I bought a magnet which I saw somebody suggested online in a video and just stuck it underneath the water wall, or I should say it stuck by itself because of the magnetic field. It’s been working fine for a couple months until just the other day. I then looked at the magnet and so it was all corroded so I put another one on it and it’s been working fine.

Just used this fix on mine. That red piece the unscrewed contains the magnet but you can easily pull it out of that plastic shell. So I removed the factory magnet and put in two 1/8 thick by 1/2 diameter rare earth magnets in that sleeve without any epoxy or anything because that red part contains it. After reinstalling I had to hold my finger on the start button for 3 seconds to reset it before starting a new cycle. Didn’t work without resetting. Hope this helps and saves you some money.

If you're here as a result of your dw80r9950ut Samsung dishwasher doing the same as this, and you’ve done work below, check the following. Dishwasher door to the floor, have back panel, and the flood tray off. From your back panel, check the three pin connector, this is what the water wall magnet interacts with. If the end loose, or not connected to anything, with a light source, place the back of your head to the floor, and look upward at the gray plastic piece where the water wall motor mount is, and there will be a spot there to lay, set in the head of the clip. I’ve knocked this wire out three times on my repairs, without realizing. Notes for my future self, I suppose.

Just GENTLY pull the carrier along the support bar about 6" from its home position. It's pretty tight so don't pull too hard or you'll have a bigger (and more expensive) problem on your hands. The water wall bar will fit on and snap in place with gentle pressure, just make sure the magnet is on the left. Just run a rinse cycle to get everything back in place. You don't want to manually move the carrier any more than you must.

Hello @Honest Dad, I believe your issue is the carriage and water wall are not connected completely. You have to press them together until you hear a click. In your video the carriage at second 3:40 deflects upwards as apposed to downward like it is supposed to. If you watch this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaHcaJmBZ9JsfcU at second 0:27 the carriage and water wall deflect downwards as apposed to upwards like your wall did. I believe your sensor is not making correct contact because of this issue. Kyle P in Part 2 pointed this out and I did some more digging. Hope this helps.

@honestdad89445 жыл бұрын
Steven Davis Honestly you need to see what’s happening inside the washer. If the washer doesn’t see the Water Bar or know it’s location it will not spray water from the jets in back. That water spay hits the bar and washer the dishes in lower rack. If your Bar carrier is not moving at all then it’s either the motor or the PCB board. Either way your gonna have to see what happening inside like I did.

My problem is the water wall bar is falling off at the front of rail. So then trolley just goes back and forth with no bar to deflect the water up. The dishwasher is only two months old. I see nothing wrong with the bar or the trolley. If put it back on it works for the test that occurs at the beginning of the wash cycle but once the water jets are turned on it falls at the front of the rail. It doesn’t snap on the trolley. It is up gravity to keep it on there and I think the water pressure is high enough to lift it off when the trolley reverses to the back of the dishwasher. It is an asinine design. The warranty repair guy is coming in two days. It will be interesting to see what his explanation is. I am sure they are told to lie about it. Problem is I’m an engineer and I can see why it doesn’t work. The design sucks! We already had the auto-release mechanism replaced two weeks after getting the dishwasher. That has stopped working again too. We are going to open another ticket after the water wall issue is looked at. We are working on getting it lemoned so we can get a refund. Otherwise they will be paying for service calls every month for the next 10 months.
