My brother played cello for three different orchestras. He passed away much too soon and when ever I feel the need to lift my soul, I watch this.

It tears up my soul that this beautiful man would be viewed as a "threat" by anyone. Yet take away his cello and that is his and my reality all too often. He is playing one of my most favorite and soul wrenching pieces of music. My brother, thank you. Peace be with you.

As a person who took piano lessons for 18 years and minored in performance in college, I have to say that you truly have a gift. Your sensitivity on the cello really allows your love for the music to shine through. I hope you get heard by millions.

This is so beautiful and so heart-wrenching. Tears are streaming down my face. I listened to this the day my father died. Then a few years ago, my mom and husband were killed only months apart and I listened to this for them, too. Now, having to watch all the terrifying things happening in the world totally alone, with no one around to comfort me ... sometimes I wonder if I died, too, and this is Hell, because I honestly can't imagine this is the way life was meant to be. For ANY of us. This must be a nightmare. I can't make sense of so much hate and sorrow and cruelty any other way. But here, in my dark place, a guy with a cello cried through his music and I cried along with him and it made me feel a little less alone. As long as there is music, there's still a little bit of light in the world for me, a little bit of hope, a little bit of comfort, even when that music comes from a place of great pain. Thank you for that.

The first time I heard this was at the end of the movie "Platoon." I thought it misplaced at the time (I was very young) but as the years went by, I came to realize the scenes of death and destruction that scanned by as the music played fit perfectly. I've always loved the choral text of this piece. It brings even more meaning to it to me, especially with the events that are going on all over the world today. "Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis. Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis. Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona nobis pacem." Translation: "Lamb of God, that takest away the sin of the world, have mercy upon us. Lamb of God, that takest away the sin of the world, have mercy upon us. Lamb of God, that takest away the sin of the world, grant us peace." God bless you, brother. Keep on doing what you do. ❤️
