No way this is a cover.
@andybear66174 жыл бұрын
hmm most the sounds in this cover are just impossible to be reproduced on cello unless it is an electric cello. He's doing a lot of vibrato as shown visually, but it isn't heard at all. Also looking closely into 2:57 there is a clear crescendo in volume but the speed and contact point of the bow is simply not changing at all. Also at exactly 3:00 the audio and video isn't synced. Most times what he's showing visually isn't heard at all also. When there's 6 shots of him playing different parts, only 2-4 of the videos are actually barely heard. Many of his covers are legitimate but this one is very very sketchy. Lots of questionable parts and it honestly seems like he's faking many parts visually and using the real track... Just my take on what I saw from the video from a cellist perspective.
@GusWMusic4 жыл бұрын
AndyBear Thanks for your insights! I‘m also a cellist, actually. :) I totally get your point. I think I‘d position my opinion in the middle. As I make covers myself, I know that syncing an already recorded audio with my movements on video is very hard. At least this I can forgive him because I do believe he doesn‘t record audio and video at the same time. What I have to agree on is the sound quality. Hans Zimmer doesn‘t use cheap samples and I guess he’d not just give away the info, too, about what samples exactly he uses. Additionally, I own an electric cello and do very many things with it - I don‘t think these sounds here can be produced on it. It must be VSTi for sure. On the other hand - who says that ThatCelloGuy hasn’t invested in some really expensive orchestra sample libraries? If you have the money, you don’t need Hans Zimmer’s info, you just look up the (expensive!) possibilities that are used by the pros and go for it. And then, although in my case it would be rather unlikely to do so, it is possible to reproduce almost the same sound as in the original. I commented on this video a year ago when I had much less experience in VSTi and music production. Now I see things a little clearlier.
