The more I hear of this Concerto, the more I'm starting to think it might just become my favourite work by Barber. Utterly intriguing four-way conversation between the three principal instruments and the strings. And the disc shown looks very desirable for both its contents and the amazing cover painting......

Indeed,; just as John Williams 'borrows' from Gustav Holst, those other film composers were aware of this Barber work...
