Nuh man...ppl react differently in trauma. We have actually seen earlier that eren started laughing when Hanes died. We know that Hanes was a big part of erens life so him laughing is just him dealing with trauma Secondly, the meat line said by Sasha was not suppose to be a meme. In season 1 Sasha had said that once they get more freedom they can have much more meat. Eren sees Sasha die before they can get freedom and his mind is battling itself. On one side we eren listens to the survey corps and waits to go through the plan. On the other hand eren knows that he must contradict the survey corps so they can get freedom.

When I watched this episode I was caught off guard by Mikasa's reaction. As someone who normally doesn't show all that much emotion for people outside of Eren and Armin, it was rather confronting to see her crying over Sasha's body. I'd say the hate for Gaby is exactly the point the author is conveying. We hate Gaby because we knew Sasha, we knew it wasn't a bad person, we had feelings for her, attachement, etc... But Gaby only knew one thing about Sasha, that she was a soldier who shot the only people who were kind to her. So now, because we don't know that much of Gaby, we don't have that history with her, all we know of Gaby is that she shot a "close friend". And that's the point of the author. Without the context, we are trapped in the cycle of hate that war brings. When we start thinking that retribution to our pain is justified by it. I especially like the symbolism behind all that arc. The mere fact that Gaby looks very closely to a young Sasha, with the same kind of brown hair, brown eyes. In a way, Gaby shot herself, like Sasha brought her demise by herself when she shot others. It's a great why to show that in war, all we do is die ourselves little by little with every life we take...

Sasha, our Potato Girl, will be missed. Her death was heartbreaking, but especially because of how it affected the other characters. Connie was in shock because he lost “his twin”. Jean was struggling to hold it together, trying to be strong for everyone else. And to see a character as tough as Mikasa break down and sob over her friend brings it all to a deeper level of sadness for me. Armin wept with her and Eren began having a breakdown (chuckle, sadness, anger). MAPPA did a great job with this episode. Enjoy all the potatoes and meat in heaven, Sasha. 😢

At this point, Connie lost everything: - His parents and siblings in their titan transformation in s2, it's not a spoiler, his mom said "welcome home" back in Ragako Village. - He was looking for Reiner and bertholdlt in ep 7 not knowing that they are the persons behind the attack and urged one of the survey corps to help and look for them. - He lost his beloved Sasha, Ow dear! Simply, he's one of the characters who are suffering in silence and no one is acknowledging him. Spoiler Alert: I said this cuz some people were like what Connie is doing to Falco is wrong and he should act "mature". He wanted to save at least his mom by feeding her Falco. He's desperate to love again. And still when Armin tossed himself instead of Falco, connie saved him, prioritizing duty over emotions. Hes one hell of a lad who treasures his friends 🧡

Sasha was my absolute favorite and the scene were she saved Kaya was the first one in which I shared a tear for the show. I believe the OST playing at that scene had much to do with it. I'm going to expand a bit here, I really need it actually... Two weeks ago, I started the Attack Of The Titans. I've never really been into anything manga, anime... But I have to admit I was influenced by all the rave reviews about SNK so I started watching... I'm not going to beat around the bush, these last two weeks have been exceptional thanks to this choice. I discovered an intriguing, fascinating and terribly dark universe at the same time. The music is incredible too, the scenario too of course... But I'm a very emotional person and I'm very attached to fictional characters, so I was waiting to see how SNK would impact me on that level. And as you can imagine, if I deliver my message here, it's because Sasha is the character that has marked me. Of course she is not really a main character but each of her appearances since season 1 had the gift to make me feel incredibly good. This is probably due to several things: First of all, I did something I often do when I start a show: I did a personality test on the internet "which snk character are you?" admittedly it's a bit ridiculous, but this ritual often allows me to find the character who corresponds to me, the character in whom I can project myself, the character of whom I can say "ah yes, this character, in this world, is me". And so the result of the test was: "you are Sasha! " So I understood at that moment that this character would not be insignificant to me in this story, his introduction had already strongly marked me (you don't waste a good potato!) so it was off to a good start! The episodes followed one another, we learned more about her origins, she shined several times (she's a damn good shot our Sasha!) despite her more secondary role. Sasha was the character who knew how to enjoy the simple things but who knew above all, how to give the smile to the others, as well to the characters of the show as to the spectators. If I write all this to you, it is because yesterday, I saw the episode 8 of the season 4 entitled "a deadly bullet". And unfortunately, our potato queen passed away. I'm not going to spread my hatred for Gaby here, Mahr... Giving in to anger won't bring her back. I'm just sad, really sad, Sasha in the end was a bit of a light in the dark world of SNK and now that she's gone, everything will be a lot less cheerful. Some may think it's silly to write so much for the death of a fictional and secondary character, but I don't care. The reality is that the sadness I feel is real... But so is the joy that this character gave me! These feelings are not fictional! I'm sure you've heard the saying, "In life, you die twice, the first time when you stop breathing, the second time when no one remembers you". I promise you Sasha that you won't die anytime soon, because in my head, your memory won't disappear for a long time. In the meantime, rest in peace, eat a good meal, you have earned it. -A person from another world, who will miss you.

My favorite part of this scene is how Mikasa and Armin are in genuine grief over her death. Mikasa especially has always been somewhat emotionally detached from the characters other than Eren and Armin. But this shows that although her priority is caring and protecting Eren, she has developed genuine relationships with the other characters during this time.
